why is gigi getting so much negative criticism for calling out cotto who fights and holds a title at 160... the division that gigi fights at.
GGG don't give a fukk WHO holds the middleweight belts as long as they hold a middleweight belt. If you have a middleweight belt, he wants to fight you. Unfortunately boxing politics will likely prevent him from becoming the lineal, unified middleweight champion of the world. :-( Wlad has been trying to do the same at heavyweight for many years and is still trying.
You have people that spout all sorts of opinions. But there is not a good amount of people criticizing Golovkin calling out Cotto. People just have a tendency to pay more attention to the negative than the positive.
Because Cotto fans like to talk out of both sides of their mouth, they like to say how skilled Cotto is and how it would be a walk in the opark for him, yet deep in the hearts they know Cotto doesn't stand a chance so they attempt to start a smear campaign accusing the number one contender at Middleweight for calling out the Lineal Middleweight Champion because he's his mandatory of picking on a LMW. GGG wants to be the undisputed unified king at 160 before he moves on. He has unfinished business untill he holds the 3 major belts, god help whomever pretends to hold one.
Golovklin is Cotto's mandatory, the WBC promised Golovkin a fight with Cotto, instead, Cotto refused to fight Golovkin his mandatory and should have been stripped of the title. When Cotto fought Geale he made Geale fight at a catchweight, the 160 lb. title should be at 160 if a fighter wants it, those are the rules. Cotto broke the rules and is paying Golovkin step aside money so he can fight Alvarez. I think Alvarez will beat Cotto, but Golovkin has again been promised a fight with the winner, he is the mandatory...............Golovkin will knock out Cotto or Alvarez..................Cotto will drop his title rather than fight Golovkin and Alvarez, if he wins, will drop the title rather than fight Golovkin......................Golovkin is way too good for either...........
Cotto is holding the lineal title hostage, he deserves as much criticism for that as he gets, probably even more. I like to watch him fight but certainly scavenging over a shot Martinez then avoiding the best by claiming you're not a natural middleweight is simply lame.
