    Does Cotto take his mandatory , or does he vacate?

    Cotto would take a worser beating than he did against both Manny and Marg put together.

    It doesnt happen.

    No, and it's a sin for Golovkin because when Cotto loses the title, the next guy won't want to take Golovkin in his first defence, will he? So the legitimate MW championship is Cotto's reign plus one year (minimum) away from the best fighter in the division. Sucks.

    Golovkin is the "interim" champion, so if Cotto vacates either Golovkin will get elevated to full champion immidiately or his next fight will be for the full title.

    It's the lineal championship that would elude him that way, wich is a bigger shame.

    Yeah, lineal is what i'm talking. It's one of those times where it just makes you berserk because there's no fix for it.

    Think Cotto already made a career proving that he is ready to fight anyone, if you missed it and started following Boxing right when Mayweather-Pacquiao's recent "negotiations" took place, then that's your problem.

    At this stage of his career, Cotto is looking to make money and he earned this position.
