Isn't he? I would say he is, cause in 2 weeks after GGG sucsessful defendet the WBC Interim Title, Cotto will have to deal with GGG or vacate.

I would have high respect of Cotto if he tooks the fight, at 160 for sure :deal

Cotto has proved it already,,... Saying he is ducking Golovkin is ridiculous,,... Dude has fought Margarito when no one wanted a piece of him,,... Fought Pacquiao on his best form,,... Fought Martinez,,... He has fought bigger names already,,...

Bigger names, but no fighter as devastating as Golovkin.

It's somewhat comparable with Spinks fighting the new star Tyson after already having fought and beaten big names from lower weightclasses and even a on his way out ATG in Larry Holmes. The guy was scared out of his mind, but it was a better risk/reward fight for him.
This is a weightclass he never fought at, against a guy in his prime that knocks over former champs like they are journeymen.

Cotto will do what is best for Cotto...and that is not fighting GGG. Think Mayweather, not GGG for Cotto. Cotto will do what every single one of you would do, and that is very simply...take the money.

Forbes estimate Cotto's wealth at $34 million. It's hardly time for him to earn some money.

I agree with you. Cotto may well have earned the right to pick and choose, but not whilst holding a major belt. That's not the way it works, as Froch found out.

Cotto should vacate and jog on.

Wow... so far its 80/20 thinking Cotto does not fight GGG. I guess I shouldnt be too surprised, but I honestly thought it would be closer to 60/40.

The only reason I would say he would, is I think Golovkins team said they would take an embarrassing low amount of the % to get this fight made.

Cotto is, after all, in this purely for the money at this point.... so him getting his ass kicked for a huge payday wouldn't shock me.

But, Im still leaning towards no.

A Canelo fight is still big, a Mayweather rematch is still 'big'. Theres too many easier fights for him for big money. I don't see him fighting GGG. I hope I am wrong.

I voted for....."Only if GGG breaks both knees and is pushed to the ring in a wheelchair.:good

Truth is, Cotto doesn't want to fight a real, healthy middleweight. He likes fighting shot fighters with bad legs.

No way he fights GGG , i think he vacates , he is currently on his knees praying to Floyd to not take the PAC fight and "buy" the MW title from him with all the burden it carries , he cannot handle it anymore , Floyd comes with the brinx truck full of cash hands him the money and take the title with Cotto losing a UD but unhurt racing to the sunset.

All I know is, Golovkin deserves to have a legitimate crack at becoming the lineal MW Champion.

Cotto knows he doesn't beat GGG, and probably takes a severe beating in the process.

Fight isn't going to happen. Even if Cotto wanted it, his managers would never let him anywhere near GGG in a ring.

Huge Cotto supporter here. He fought everyone during his career. He earned the right to pick his first title defense. But if he isn't scheduled to fight Golovkin by year end, the should get stripped.

Cotto is brave but too small for GGG.
