Cotto simply had yes men in his corner for the pac fight. they were condolling him between the rounds rather than giving advice. I would love to see him with either freddie or brother naz, but i doubt that will happen. nacho would be a good a choice. also what if he reconciles with his uncle would that be a good move, since evangelista is the trainer and miguel the fighter?

this might be a stupid question but what about roger? i mean he deserves credit for mayweather's wins even tho floyd is super talented. who else does roger train except for floyd?

As soon as the first jab lands - "Stop the fight baby, you're taking too much punishment......Here have some water baby"

It's about time he finds a new trainer. I don't believe Cotto's career is finished one bit. It's a shame he didn't take Stewart's offer to train him for the Pacquiao fight, I think he would have done much better than he did. I held a poll on this forum to see who people thought Cotto should pick as his new trainer. Majority of the people chose Nazim Richardson, followed by Nacho Beristain, then Emmanuel Stewart. Although unlikely to happen, Nazim would be a good choice as he can learn some great strategies in the ring. Picking Nacho would eliminate any language problems. Stewart would be a fine choice as well as Stewart would have Cotto use his jab again, which sets up everything else.

Like trying to buy a "beta" tape for a Blueray player..
Too late, His best has already been seen.
(It's not the trainer, It's what "HE" can/can't take as a fighter...)

It doesn't matter who Cotto seeks, as long as it someone who shows him who is the boss and also someone that will be able to push him to his limits and make him feel hungry. Enough running around fancy tracks and the light sparring. Cotto needs to take it old school, running in the mountains and sand beach. Hopefully we get that Cotto we witness in the Torres, Judah, Mosley fights. Hungry, hungry, and more hungry Cotto.

One thing I definately have to agree is on the sparring. I mean how bad were his sparring partners compared to who Pac was sparring against and then one of his sparring partners gets sent home and is not replaced. Ridiculous.

    its not just sparring....

i speak to phil landman often (cotto conditioning coach) the regimen he told me they follow does NOT look like that of a boxers, he doesn't put any real intensity in his training except when he is on the tracks.

phil landman is a great guy but IMO not the best conditioning coach.

cotto needs someone to take charge in camp and he should leave the family at home.

Change at this stage IMO is not a certain fix, but at least its a sign of trying....

What was needed was a buckling down of the once disciplined technique he used to have, and the iron and emotionless execution within the ring. He has become stiff with his hooks and like ive said for awhile, doesnt throw them like homeruns with his ass/legs/trunk into it, but more of a back/arm punch... completely taking out the effectiveness of his best weapon. And to me, hes become a bit fragile internally in the ring... IMO.

Both are gone, i believe his uncle could indeed bring back the technique, but im not a fan of boxers picking up 'new' trainers and techniques this late in the game... so i hope whoever he picks up doesnt try to change his style completely, but instead just buckle down on things that need to be buckled down.

but we will see.... I hope for the best!

Naz would teach him how to throw his right hand, and the art of swimming without getting wet
