We know cotto needs to tighten up his defense a bit and avoid uppercuts. Pretty sure roach will be working on pac's uppercut.

But, what weaknesses in Pac, can cotto expose? What will cotto have to do to beat pac?

    Box & test Pac's condition.
Test his power early, & go from there.

I expect Cotto to come out like a killer round 1.
Check Manny strength Then plan from there.

Manny can be picked & beat to the punch.
(Check the Morales fight & Both JMM fights)

If cotto comes out with the killer instinct 1st round....he'll get knocked out. He needs to be patient from opening bell Until the end. GO TO THE BODY. Pac will let his hands fly that will open him up for a some punishing body shots. Cotto needs to go to the body and STAY with it and be smart and pick his body shots and not drain himself.

Bad idea. What Cotto needs to do is to land a hard jab effectively. Make Pacquiao think twice and once he lands a jab, keep going foward with the guard up and get on the inside. Cotto best chance is go on the inside. If Cotto stays outside i could see Pacquiao outboxing Cotto.

are you kidding me! if cotto comes out with a killer instinct and and attack from the get go manny would feel overwhelm. and if cotto starts off too patient it will be a closer fight until the later rounds where cotto size would drain pacquiao

Stay the F*ck away from straight lefts and left hooks.

Rough Pac to stop him from moving too fast.

cotto has to put on a boxing clinic from the first round to the last, the jab has to be there all night, constant lateral movement especially to mannys right, he has to pick when and where to get into exchanges. cottos boxing skills are very underestimated and i belive he can pull it off, but he better come ready to box for the full 12 rounds becouse if hes not manny will slowly and painfully break him.

Use the stiff jab whilst coming forward, setting up the vicious hooks to the head and body. Test him. Needs to be patient and not leave any windows open. But at the same time not too patient to let Manny control the pace of the fight.

Cotto needs to work Pac's body EARLY and OFTEN in order to slow him down. If he can get in some brutal body punches early then I think he has a shot at knocking Pac out late. IMO this isn't a fight Cotto can win (with the judges or the court of public opinion)with a decision. He is going to need to knock Manny out.

Cotto needs to watch and learn from Marquez and land the straight right...If he's able to mix the right hand with perfectly timed jabs, Pacquiao will lose.

if cotto comes into the fight with his mind set on knocking manny out i think hes gonna have problems, cotto should come into the fight with his mind set on out classing manny with his boxing skill which is something i belive he is capable of. if a knock down/out comes which very well could happen then so be it but cotto should focus on his boxing and especially his jab.

Cotto will not win a decision. Everyone wants to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather and they won't let a decision loss to Cotto derail it. You KNOW boxing is corrupt enough to make sure that doesnt happen.

He needs to utilize his jab like many have already said, but he also needs to start doing something he's never done, and that's clinch. If he clinches effectively he can muscle Pac and enforce his will on him, and while he's clinching start hammering Pac's body. One thing Cotto can't do is allow the fight to stay in the middle of the ring, that would play right into Pac's hand because it would allow Pac to use his superior foot speed and quickness. Cotto needs to keep the fight on the ropes where he can keep Pac from dancing around. If Cotto is able to get Pac trapped in the corner of the ring, like he did Clottey in the 5th round of their fight, I think Cotto will be able to take Pac out.
