Cotto gave Floyd a tougher fight than Canelo... Hype Denied.

Cotto got busted up more then Canelo did, Not to mention he got his ass kicked by Trout who Canelo beat.:deal

 

i wouldn't say cotto got his ass kicked it was the same fight canelo gave trout with the only difference canelo got the decision

 

Thats because cotto fought the right fight against floyd. Completely cut off the ring and went in, smothering floyd whilst at a distance jabbing. Canelo fought the wrong fight for his abilities.

 

That's because he's a better fighter than canelo, more experienced and faced way better opponents.

 

Yeah...and Cotto hurt Floyd's face more than Floyd hurt Cotto's face. But Cotto still lost.

 

He did push floyd harder. This is irrefutable

 

The thing is that Canelo will destroy Miguel Cotto badly in 2014.

I agree that if cotto looks bad vs rodriguez, this fight gets pointless

 

Of course, every fight you focus on what any fighter might do. Cotto can't match speed with Canelo, Cotto can't match power for power with Canelo. Doesn't matter how he looks with Rodriguez he will get badly stopped. Cotto will be fed to the lion once he wins in October.

 

Agreed, Cotto can't match the speed or power of Canelo, and cotto's right hand is a joke compared to Canelo. But...he's got a hard jab, a better workrate and better footwork and possibly a better inside game. So...why can't Cotto craft his fight off those?

 

Because his jab is not that good despite is hard, the better workrate gets ****ed up once Canelo gets going, his footwork is awesome compared to Canelo's but takes only 2-3 rounds to figure it out because he always moves to the same side of the ring and believe me, his inside game is NO GAME for Canelo. It will be an interesting fight while it lasts, but Canelo stops him.
