I would have thought Martinez was making at least double that. He's been a p4p top ten fighter for four years now and he makes as much as some of these no hoper B fighters Mayweather fights. His management sucks. Stevenson only had to beat Cloud and Dawson and now he's a 3 million dollar fighter. Broner only beat Malignaggi and Ponce De Leon, and he makes 2 mil a fight.

 

He's taking on a smaller fighter after having a close fight and being injured. Plus he doesn't speak English, that instantly destroys your cross over appeal and revenue generation.

 

Cotto sells way more. Plus, Martinez knows he isn't fighting a legitimate 160lbs fighter
