The Bobfather gets Cotto a shot at The WW Title that Paul "The Punisher" Williams vacated (since other boxers are avoiding him)...so there is really no reason to entertain Cotto beating Williams. I'm sure Williams would have fought him for it, but that WBO belt is more enticing to team Cotto when it doesn't have to be taken off the waist of Paul Williams.

Just look at it this way. Cotto will be putting the title on the line against Antonio Margarito in June.

Let's not forget that the fake Hearns moved up in weight.

Cotto would fight anyone, and Williams is no Margarito. By that I mean, he's no were near as tough.

Let us not forget either, that Williams was outclass easily by Quintana there first go around ... a man that Cotto dominated till he said "No Mas"

Lets not forget the massive size advantage paul williams has over smallish welterweight cotto. Cotto is something like 5'7 yo PW's nearly 6'3 with an 83 inch wingspan. No way Cotto wins this fight, absolutely no way. We will never see it either.

Its the WBO belt. I wouldnt consider it a 'title' at all.

From what I understand, the WBO belt is the least respected one. So it's not THAT big of a deal. Plus, Cotto is an excellent 147-pound fighter, I don't think one can say he doesn't deserve title shots just because he lost one fight.

Cotto deserves a title shot no doubt. But to say that he wants any part of PW is living in a fantasy world. By him, I don't mean him personally, I mean his management.

Arum ain't gonna let this guy anywhere NEAR Petey. You guys know it.

Arum told Cotto and his people that it was either Jennings or no fight...so Cotto really didnt have much of a choice here.

You can add Clottey and Berto to the list of champions that Cotto didn't have to fight to regain a belt. Those two btw both fought for and won vacated titles themselves. The whole thing is a joke and their really can be no champion if the belts aren't unified. The word champion in the context of boxing is completely irrelevant.
