I know he tends to do this alot. He did it against Judah a few times and against Shane.

He switched a few times against Clottey and when he did it seemed like he couldnt miss w/ the straight left. At one point somewhere in the middle rounds it actually looked like he stunned Clottey or at least buzzed him. Did you guys take notice? I think hes very effective when he does it especially since hes a natural left hander.

He can do it well, as you would probably expect...I was suprised he didnt employ it early to tell you the truth.

He must do it just to confuse his opponent once in a while. He always do it for a couple of seconds and then switches back, but imo he should do it more often.

He is a natural lefty, probably why it is so natural for him.

Yup, but like me he feels more comfortable using his power hand as his jab hand

Doesn't do it enough. Hagler used it all the time - it's a terrific way to make an opponent uncomfortable.

He doesn't seem to have the same skills when going left handed, but what he does do welll from the southpaw stance is unload with strong left hand powershots.

Yeah, he claims he hits harder from the southpaw stance than he does out of the orthodox stance.

Seems like he does it more when the opponent is hurt or when he thinks hes hurt. Maybe so he can load up on the left more.

Cotto is more effective switching to Southpaw than most that try it. But I think doing it more often would be a mistake. Better to use it as an occasional surprise, than to have the opponent expecting it.
