Cotto/Golovkin potentially most entertaining and explosive fight in recent memory?

    All they have to do is check Golovkin's +/- but most of these people aren't that smart. It's easier to just spew ****.

    Yes, but there is clear difference between the two fighters. Cotto has been beaten badly on more than one occasion. GGG, by comparison, has never been brutalized. This indicates a few things. One, GGG probably has the heavier hands. Two, GGG is technically more sound. Three, GGG can probably absorb punches better.

    What I find most disappointing about the scenario that is unfolding right now is that GGG is 32. OK, fine, Cotto is 33. That fight is not a problem. But I can see the Canelo fight dragging out for 2 or 3 years so that by the time that fight happens GGG will clearly be on the downward slide. What an incredible career GGG could have had, if they had only given him the opportunities in his late 20's instead of his early to mid 30's. Such a shame.

    Sturm and Universum made GGG lose 4 years just like that. Blame them and the German superstar, off course.

    GGG might have to wait till Cotto fights winner of Canelo vs Lara then that will be a mega fight. Might be good to get 1 more fight after his july 26 fight under his belt since he hasnt been active

    But, as usual, GGG is not invited to the party to share in the spoils. Again, when does the boxing world acknowledge the elephant in the room?

    In all likelihood, eventually one of the so-called stars will have to fight GGG. GGG will KO that "star" in electrifying fashion and the public will scream for more GGG, just when he is hitting the skids. And the public will say "Where did this guy come from?" "Never heard of him before." Oh, brother.

    Well, there's no evidence that GGG will be on the slide by 34,35 for sure. Look at the amount of fighters that hit a peak around mid 30's. It's becoming more common all the time(Martinez, JMM), especially for guys who take care of themselves as GGG clearly does, and for guys who are relatively un-shopworn, as GGG is, having not taken much punishment thus far in his career. I think he could have a good few years of 'prime' left and may well continue until he's 38 or so at a very high level.

    May well happen. Doesn't mean it couldn't still be one of the most exciting and explosive fights available at the moment.

    if cotto beats ggg either ggg is the biggest hypejob of all time or somehow cotto has turned into some kind of rejuvenated beast. come on now, cottos best wins are paulie malinaggi, zab judah, a 39 yr old peg leg martinez and a 38 yr old mosely.

    Put me down for wanting Cotto/GGG over Cotto/Canelo. It would be a better fight.
