This man is simply amazing. The guts to do what he did tonight and with Sergio Martinez despite the setbacks in his life is truly something to behold.

Life obviously hasn't been too kind to Miguel Angel Cotto. He got cheated in 2008 which left him a broken man, weak and fragile. He has never fully recovered since then, having lost to a midget and beat up by Clottey not long after.

To make matters worse, Cotto's father passed away and he was forced to fight the plaster cheat Margarita again with that in his mind. In the most macho move in boxing history, Cotto permanently injured Margarita and left him retired and broke. He beat that man so bad that Margarito went from looking like a badass Mexican prison thug to a fat chubby Justin Bieber. Don't believe me? See for yourself..

Cotto's fathers passing still left him with a heavy heart, but like a true warrior he tested himself against the BEST fighter of this generation Floyd Mayweather. After a humble defeat, Cotto looked for one more chance at glory in title holder Austin Trout. Severely depressed from the Mayweather loss, Cotto under performed and Trout embarrassed him with his slick boxing movement and height..

Cotto accepted all of downfalls like a true man. Cursed with being cheated, having a gay stepson, and having his father pass away, enough was enough. With a renewed outlook in life, Cotto hooked up with Freddie Roach to become the man that we see today. Martinez called Cotto out thinking Cotto was the same man of the Trout fight, and we all saw what happened. Cotto beat that boy so bad, he embarrassed him to retirement.

We must all give respect to this legend. What a warrior.. :deal

He is a WARRIOR, and NOBODY, worth their salt, questions that.

    He's a first ballot HOFer, and likely a top 100 p4p ATG.

I believe his first L to MargoCONCRETO should be ruled a NC, or a DQ win for Cotto, and I take NOTHING from that fight.

VS Pac, he can claim the weight was an issue, but he'd be be a hypocrite for doing so.

At this point, with Roach in his corner, I BELIEVE in my heart he can move back to 154 where HE BELONGS, win a few titles, the IBF, WBA, and WBC, call himself undisputed and retire.

Mayweather would UNDOUBTEDLY refuse to rematch him at 154, so Miquel would be foolish to try to make 150 for that fight unless he just wants to cash out.

And he should avoid Boo Boo b/c IMO, Boo Boo might be the best 154-168 lb fighter in the world, including GGG.

I think he's the only one who runs 50/50 with GGG in terms of H2h.

But he doesnt need Boo Boo, GGG or Canelo for legacy or paydays.

ROC is guarnateeing him $$$$$, HUGE $$$$$$ for his next fights, and if he continues to win impressively, he might just get an extension on that.

BUT.....he needs to stop campagning at 160. UNLESS he's gonna fight GGG at 155+.

If he does that, and even walks out the ring on his own, Ill give him mad props. :good

BUT....before that, he should target the 154lb titlists, and relinquish his 160lb WBC title. :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

More than Ggg, who has only beat one former middleweight belt holder.

I like Cotto and I'm happy his career is back on track, but...

    A shot Martinez
    Delvin Rodriguez
    Daniel Geale

"Let's not start sucking each other's Ds quite yet."

This looks eerily similar to his run at 154 before he fought Floyd.

It's sad enough that already his Middleweight resume beats GGG's.

Great career and great fighter, however all of his 'antics' recently are seriously devaluing his career. Wont fight the best, fights at 157 even though it is for the 160 title, disadvantages his opponents with the catch weights, has a list of demands that his opponents has to agree to, lost a lot of respect for him because of this, I'm sure this is the same with many others.

    Martinez was a pitiful cripple

Geale was a weight drained zombie who had already been softened by the REAL MAN at MW. the one the ducking diva fears so much, the one everybody in the division (rightfully) fears. THE REAL LINEAL MW CHAMP GGG who will MOP THE FLOOR with Cotto if the cripple-beater ever grows a pair, and gets in the ring with him

Oh brotha we using the Mayweather recipe now in beating former wold champs ? Geale was recently destroyed by GGG you now want to give credit to Cotto ?
gtfo with this dumb ass logic it's not impressive to KO a guy who was just Ko ed and had to be drained !
