Because no way in hell do any fighter take that many shots to the head and come back as quickly and as strongly as Cotto did. However, what an awful defense. Torres basically tired himself out punching Cotto's head.

one thing you have to keep in mind for both of these fights that most people dont consider is....

    1) against Corley, it was his very first headlined fight in Puerto Rico. Cotto came out guns blazing which was very uncharacteristic of him at the time. He allowed himself to buy into the hype of the homecrowd and ended up getting caught. Once he settled down Corley had no chance. Not to mention his weight issues also at the time.

    2) Against Torres, they had a huge grudge b/c Torres was Cotto's sparring partner before hand. Word was out that Torres was talking trash so Cotto went out there with a point to prove. Rather than being cautious of Torres' power, he had to learn the hardway. But again, once he composed himself, it was over for Torres. Oh, and on a side note Cotto has never been dropped from a punch. Torres pushed him down.

Now, I dont know if GRap is trying to be funny about Cotto's chin, but I do think it's a lot better than people give him credit for. Cotto took some monster shots from Judah and walked through them I thought.

I wouldn't say his chin is the best but he has excellent revcovery ability. He may go down or get hurt but he recovers quickly and that's all that really matters.

funny thing is that ths Grap homo puts the cotto vs corley but the punch corley landed wasnt on the chin it was a shot on the temple that proves cotto was weight drained and extremely weak at that weight

Torres was still landing big shots in the 7th. Torres went down from fatigue.

Man Torres landed some big shots on Cotto and still he didn't go down, Cotto's chin at that weight couldn't have been that bad.

May I also add, its hard to tell when Cotto's hurt. Whenever he's hit flush he has the same expression on his face and he steps back a bit as if feigning injury but comes back strong when the guy goes in for the kill.

Alot of refs would have stopped that fight and Cotto would have a TKO loss on his record

Im a huge Cotto fan but your right my friend, remember watching that fight and being so dissapointed, Cotto got the benefit of the doubt in that fight.

Anyway hes defense has improved, and his way on bigger and best things.

his "shaky" chin has been absent since he's moved up in weight. Even when it was "shaky" his recovery has always been outstanding.

that people still point to this as the chink in his armor is a testament to how complete of a fighter he is.

tbh i hate early stoppages. Some refs would have stop Pacquiao vs MArquez in the first round and imagine how we would have been robbed as fans.

So all things considered the ref did well to let the fight do on when Cotto was hurt
