I think Cotto's chin is average. Not a bad chin but it is not a notable one.

I felt Cotto was one punch away from being stopped when Ricardo pushed him to the ground---allowing him to recover remarkabily enough to continue with reasonable control of his senses---Mans got very quick recovery powers and IMO can handle big shots well..:smoke :smoke

I agree with you that Torres was tired but the body shots Cotto was landing on Torres was the main factor for him getting KO.

the best chin i doubt it great recovery yes ,also when cotto has been hurt he trows punches whit great strenght to stop him you got to be willing either to take some or evade them to put him on the canvas

Better then his chin or his recovery are those amazing shots he constantly lands below the belt.

I think Grap has a huge point. I mean, he's taking SERIOUS flush shuts in his early days and stormed back.

You can see his defense is improving however as he's getting caught FAR less and with better competition.

(i.e it's alot easier to be caught by Zab and Mosley then it is to be caught by Corley and Torres....Hell even MAYWEATHER got tagged by Zab, although not even half as badly.)

    Great observation and good proof!:thumbsup

watches 1 of Cotto's fights and already talks ****. Cotto was draining himself to make weight at 140 and both of those clips were fights at 140...at 147 he has not been hurt like that being that he's not draining himself like he was at the lighter weight...I still don't think that he has the best chin, but its better than what he gets credit for

It's a coincidence you mention Evander because Cotto said that was his favorite boxer growing up.
