comon man. Ive followed miguel cottos carrer since his fight with carlos quintana, and i followed all his training up to a fight. he was eather sirkelig,or going forward in all his sparring and padwork sessions. never saw him WORK on changing angles while going backwards, witch offcourse will make trouble for him when a nother fighter like margarito pressures him and makes him go backwards. its the same with a car. if you have never drived a car in revers, just driving forward, you gonna have trouble reverse the car for the first time.after youve practiced it,youl do it good. its like this with everyting here in life. if you want to master a thing you have to practice...in the training up to the margarito rematch you could se cotto work mutch ong going backwards and countering, witch made his timing very good while doing it because of practicing, but at the same tim we could see he worked on going forward and side to side. a boxer should never be aloud to enter the ring if he is just working on one style witch is his strenght.he should work even more on his weeknesses. but normally if a boxer doesent do some things right, 90% of the time its the trainers fault. i dont care if the trainer says, ohh i told him to do this or that but he just wouldnt lissen. if a boxer doesent lissen, its the trainers job to make him lissen in the trainingcamp before the fight, so thath the boxer anderstands every tips he gets in the corner inbetween the rounds, sorry my english isnt the best

Pressure is the way to beat Cotto, so yes. Nothing wrong with that. Many champs are/were lot worse at it.

So if Margo would have won I bet he is not shot, but since he lost all of a sudden he was shot? Shot or not, Margo kept coming forward the whole fight and was in excellent condition. As a matter of fact, Margo looked like he had more energy at the stop of the fight than did Cotto.

Now that we are passed that, to answer the thread question; Yes. Cotto will always have problems with aggressive offensive minded pressure fighters. Especially ones who have a good chin.

Cotto can definetely bust you up though. Look at all of his fights, win or lose he has put a hurting on everyone he has fought. In the first fight with Margo, Cheato looked like a racoon by mid fight. Pac got his eardrum busted.

Cotto's style makes for exciting drama filled fights because of his style. Basically he will give you the opportunity to exchange, but will make you pay in the process. If a fighter can impose his will and overcome Cotto's power that will always be trouble for Cotto. Cotto is a good boxer, but lacks the stamina to do it properly and avoid a pressure fighter for all 12 rounds without paying for it.

With all that being said, thats why I would love to see Cotto fight Mayweather.

Cotto didn't beat Margo EASILY, that statement in itself robs you of all credibility. He looked fragile and he was at times surviving, I was worried THE WHOLE TIME, and I was rooting for Cotto like mad (not only did I bet a substantial amount on him but I also followed his career since his early years). Margo was gaining momentum in 9th round and if it wasn't for the eye, who knows how it would have ended...

8 rounds to 1 with 51% connect in power punches is a good workout
