    Cotto has 6 wins over unbeaten fighters since 03, spanning 3 weight divisions.

    thats pretty impressive considering manny has beaten 2. floyd has beaten 1. martinez has beaten 2. Donaire 2. most peoples p4p top 4. there cant be many more fighters out there that have fought that many over the last 8 years or so? undefeated records of course dont mean a whole lot depending on your opposition, but it does say a lot about his heart and bravery taking on guys who are undamaged and undefeated.

    just shows how much of an animal this guy has been.
    Margarito loss took a hell of a lot out of him thats clear. and if his hands were loaded that night, its a ****ing tragedy. potentially blunting an ATG career in the making.

    i do fear for cotto in the rematch though. margarito has that mental edge over him and it could be another beatdown....

    I just thought Miguel Cotto has been a bit quiet lately and decided to make a thread on a truly underrated and under talked about fighter of the last 10 years. one of the best for sure.

    Cotto may not be an ATG, but he has one of the most impressive resumes of his generation.

    Floyd's a great fighter because of who he's beaten, how he's beaten them, and how he's always found a way to win; not because he has an 0 at the end of his record.

    While your rational about the above mentioned may be compelling-if you ignore the "who he's beaten part". That does not imply that Floyd perception of a Perfect record is the same as yours... which was my argument.

    Cotto is my favorite active fighter. He's always been in the best available fight, always showed up in shape and always given it his all. That's all you can expect in a fighter.

    I'm hoping he gets his revenge, then settles down in a well-earned retirement. I think he will be remembered very fondly by fans as the years go by.

    Well, I don't know what goes on inside Floyd's brain, but I deduce that he's saying that everyone that's been put in front of him failed to win. He's feeding off the peoples hate. People find and build someone up and say, "This guy can beat Floyd. He's got the tools." Then Floyd beats them handily, so they discredit the win and find somebody else. I don't think it's as black and white as everyone makes it out to be.

    Cotto has always been my favorite, guy comes to fight.. no bs. It's a bit upsetting since he was cheated out of being truly great (car crash, shitty trainer, family issues) He is one of those fighters that will always be remembered for his cojones
