I just read an article on ESB and it said that Cotto has not signed to fight Margarito ... i'm wondering if Cotto knows something that some don't ... that he might actually lose and lose badly.

I think that Cotto doesn't want to risk a loss and ruin a potential 09' showdown with p4p king PBF Mayweather.

I personally don't think a loss will hurt Cotto's chances ... the anticipation of the fight is growing and no matter if Cotto loses or not - the public will still demand that he fight PBF.

I'm not surprised at Cotto's recent actions and it not only says alot about Cotto, but it says alot about Bob Arum and his recent rants about PBF being a coward.

    What do you guys think?

If Cotto hasn't signed, the only reason would be to take no chances in ruining a huge payday against Oscar. Hell, maybe he just following the Floyd Mayweather blueprint on how to survive the welterweight division.

Floyd's reason was because Margarito had no name and hadn't fought anyone.

Cotto's sole reason IMO would be, not to take the risk of losing before his first mega fight.

Cotto knows that he can't beat Margarito and is already defeated by not jumping at the opportunity to out box "Tony"

Just because it hasn't been signed yet doesn't mean jack ****? You are so biased it's unreal...

What if they're just having trouble deciding on the gloves? or the venue? and that's why it isn't signed? Ever think of that?

Or maybe one of the fighters has a hand injury they don't want to openly talk about? Both were using their opponents as literal heavy bags so the possibility is extremely high due to the punches landed by each.

Stop trying to get a rise out of people/ running to protect your favourite boxer and make a post that is actually worth something.

Hell go outside and get physically fit. HELL X2 why don't you actually go box? lol

There could be a number of reasons why the contract has not been signed yet. Obviously there are issues with glove size, fight location, money, the belts.....etc...etc.

But of course we well have the retractors and or adolescent pimple faced girls automatically jumping on the he's "scared" or he's "ducking" Margo. What would life be without simpletons who are easily entertained.

Yes I have thought of that ... Margarito is a throw back and will do what it takes to get the recognition ... The only possible reason that I can see the delay in signing is Cotto doesn't want to fight or Cotto is attempting to get more money.

They both wear the same kind of gloves ... Margarito will fight anywhere and has proved that in the past.

Why are you so upset ... because Cotto hasn't signed ... I didn't start this thread to ruffle feather ... I started it because its news and the EBS public should be aware.

The guy who wrote this isn't the biggest PBF fan and has written articles in the past criticizing Floyd.

This is an issue of Cotto v Margarito and the risk of it not happening.

So its ok for Floyd to do it but if Cotto does is simply because he's "scurred" :patsch

Cotto had already signed to fight Margo last year but Margo opted to fight Paul Williams you dimwitted ****.

I think they are going to change the date of the fight, at least is what I heard, I don't think Cotto is afraid of fighting Margo, boxing is business after all.

Bob Arum had the details panned out ... He knows that Margarito is down for whatever and that he would agree to whatever terms Arum comes out with.

Like I said before Margarito would fight anywhere and he wears the same gloves as Cotto. The size of Gloves won't matter if they fight in NJ or NY or PR ...

Margarito has shown that he would fight on the east coast or go to PR like he did with Santos.

The belt isn't an issue because Arum said that Margarito was going to vacate that IBF belt and challenge Cotto for his WBA strap.

Money may be the big issue ... Cotto may feel that for the risk he needs more money or he flat out doesn't want to jeopardize his potential mega fight with PBF.

The article was written by Scoop Malinowski. Scoop has shown next to no journalistic integrity on this site and is an ardent Margarito pole jocker. This fight is going to happen, I wouldn't put much stock into Scoop's article.

I never said that Cotto was a coward ... he might not want to jeopardize his chances of a mega fight ...

The deal has been on the table for a while and it was just a matter of the two getting on the same path ...

There should be no reason why Cotto hasn't signed the contract yet ...
