I understand mexicans....u know...pr vs mexico. But alot of mayweather fans seem to talk down on cotto every time he's brought up. How can u hate Cotto? Is it because Mayweather is accused of ducking Cotto?
Every time sumone says Cotto-Floyd shuld have happened, in comes a floyd fan to talk down cotto as if hes on Baldomir or judahs level. Pisses me off man.
Let's face it, the haters feel threatened. Hence pointing to the Bruseles fight as if he and Cotto were even comparable in ability. We'll never know who would have won, but we'll always get reminded of how butthurt and catty a few Floyd fans can get about the man named Miguel Cotto.
im only posting here cause its the only thread that hasnt YET been invaded by the troll vitali shapshn or some **** like that.....he will proly reply to this **** with his stupid nutjob websites
Why isn't he banned yet? Anyway, aside from what has already been mentioned they also like to talk down on past opponents of Pacquiao. Same thing with Margarito. If there wasn't the plaster issue excuse it would have been more obvious.
I don't understand why Mayweather fans wouldn't like Cotto? Dude has good skills, even if they didn't fight so what? Cotto has given us alot of good fights.... There are always extreme supporters of every fighter, you are taking notice of these too much.
Cotto fans shouldn't worry, you can say Cotto ran Mayweather into his first retirement. What kind of fighter will say that oh I can't or don't want to fight him because he's from Puerto Rico atsch.
Im a PBF fan, but I like and have always liked Cotto? Granted I think his best days are past and he's done at the true "Elite" level, but Ima fan.
I like Cotto as a fighter and seems like a good dude. What I don't like is how people bring him up like he was some type of great or "the best" but isn't held to those standards. Example, Mayweather or even Pac for that matter as soon as they move up in weight are expected to face the absolute best in that weight class automatically. Cotto never seemed to have to do so. I also don't like that Cotto went for vacant belts rather then challenge a champ and take his title. He did so with Foreman now at the tail end of his career, but that was pretty weak. Nobody ever talks about the fighters that Cotto missed out on like Gatti, Hatton, Tzyu, Mayweather, Williams, Cintron, Martinez. He also gets more credit for beating guys that other fighters don't get that same credit. I will say this, though he is a good fighter, if he had a real trainer for the majority of his career he could have possibly risen to that other level.
Not a fan of how he ducked Floyd AND Sexy Sergio but gets excused for it, in some cases even credited for ducking Floyd.
Not that I'm not agreeing with you about the match up part, but I want to hear from you what attributes Cotto had that made him a difficult match up?
good way to sum it up I never seen a fighter get so many allowances and exceptions made for him he has unlimited ghetto passes, not even emmanuel with all the media hype can compare the upcoming 153 pound catchweight is a joke too, but I'll still be rooting for Cottoe to beat margaritoe, I don't like no plaster boys
