I understand people's view about the whole chatch weight bull****. But to be honest, I am not happy with the stamina Cotto has shown during his last 4 fights. May be coming a lighter lighter will help him being faster and last longer. He will need all that to keep up with Pacquiao. Is incredible the way Manny seems to have less fat in his body now than when he was at 126lbs. Whatever they are doing, seems to be working.
Ariza works for Pacquiao where does he get this information from? the man is a ****ing bum have any of you seen Alex Ariza's fight record? he is paid to say what Pac wants him to say.
Look, I'm not buying any excuse they come up with. From the start THEY DEMANDED that it's at 145, then when Pac accepted he tried to take the title out of the fight but was forced out of such actions. Fact is, Cotto is showing ZERO confidence leading up to this while Pac is his usual, calm self. Here's a nice video. Don't understand what you are talking about .....he said there shouldn't be any problem at all and his last fight he came in at 146... Thats what he said....what are you smoking ?
That's the point, idiot. He says in the video the weight would be no problem yet this thread hints that he's admitting he has issues. What am I smoking?, at least I can spell my username properly upon registration, ******.
Stop looking for ghosts!! Cotto made 146lbs when his contract limit was 147lbs. There is not reason not to make 145lbs. Unles he doesn't want to make it. He looks very confident in that interview. The only thing I see is Cotto speaking a language that is still very difficult for him to speak. There is nothing unusual there.
Boxers cut water weight basically in the last 10 days. Cotto is going to this fight with at least 11 weeks of training.
Gee, I guess since Ariza said this it has to be true. Did you hear that Pacquiao has been under the weather the past week? According to Phil Landman, Pacquiao is having a problem maintaining his weight because of a stomach flu.
I wasn't saying it would be all fat. Typically when you bulk you gain 50% muscle and 50% fat, nobody gains 100% muscle unless they are on steroids or they are in their physical prime. Yes I expect him to be muscle at 150lbs, but you burn muscle the exact same time and way you burn fat. If you eat less and you run a lot, you'll burn weight and typically 50% of the weight you lose is muscle unless you lose it really slowly so that your body rebuilds the muscle faster than you burn it. Anyway the point is, if you are a professional there is no reason not to make weight unless you are past your prime. When DLH didn't make weight its because he was in his 30s and not on steroids so it was excusable. Cotto isn't even 30, he should have no problem making weight and it wont make a difference if he has to burn a few pounds of muscle or of fat.
Its trivial to lose 3lbs in a week. He can lose that just by fasting. I don't see how hes off weight at all, sure hes not precisely 145lbs but its probably a dumb idea to be exactly 145lbs. The point is to be 145lbs on the weigh in, but be 148 or even 150lbs on fight night.
