Good to see some positive change and somebody thinking from team Cotto... I hope he can regroup and come back strong..... he has a great style to watch.... Bring back the baby fro...
Better than who was his head trainer last time but now Emanuel will yell at him even if he is on his way to a shutout in the fight.
I dont know, i know its better then what he has but steward isnt right for everyone. All cotto needs is tightening down on his now loose technique, and a harder training camp, at the very least injecting such a professional trainer will be a good thing on that but i really hope steward doesnt try to change him up too much.
I don't think this is as bad a match as some of you think.... Steward has taught Lewis and Vlad how to be much more defensive fighters and keep them away from danger... I know Cotto ain't the mold for Steward but I think if he can tighten up that D and teach him how to hold it's where he needs to be....
Cotto needs strategy. With exception to the Mosley fight which is the most disciplined fight Ive ever seen Cotto fight, his approach is always raw and predictable. Steward will make him less so, plus he will put him through the proper paces in training which seemed to be missing lately. The pad work that Santiago did with Cotto promoted slower punches and was utter garbage. I watched him workout with Santiago and I just shook my head. If Cotto has anything left, Steward will bring out the best in Cotto. Foreman is a very tough fight for him from a technical standpoint and no way Cotto could win without a proper trainer in his corner.
Good news. Cotto is one of my fav fighters, cant wait for him to get back on top. Just had to root against him once against Pac
This could be good or bad but at this point anything is better than what "Santiago" had in his training fundamentals. A little versatility might be good for Cotto ! I think "Steward" can bring some of his skills together and definitly bring a defensive game to the ring. I think the biggest attribute that Staward can do for Cotto is impose some discipline in his training camp and have him train with an asorted amount of tools.
