:good Good analysis. The last great performance from Cotto was vs Mosley. He used angles and hardly stood in front of Mosley. Cotto the body puncher is both good and bad for the sense that yes, we know the larger, taller, harder punching Trinidad dissected Mayorga that way, but Cotto when fighting in close quarters uses the ear muff guard, but leaves his chin way out there and then likes to hit both sides of the body and finishes with an uppercut. Mayorga will be extremely dangerous the first rounds because that's when he can hurt the smaller Cotto with an uppercut. Cotto the boxer would do better early with an occasional bodyshot. Mayorga is not Floyd, but he is a sneaky ******* and I'm sure he can make it an ugly fight, using elbows. Also Mayorga being limited, is still tough as nails and awkward as hell. Against Tito, Oscar, and Mosley, he had to get dropped multiple times before being stopped. I don't think Miguel has that type of power Tito, Oscar, or Mosley has and will have a harder time stopping Ricardo. A UD for Cotto wouldn't surprise me, unless Steward really has done wonders with Cotto. Alot of people here underestimating Mayorga.

The problem with Cotto's movement was that he didn't accomplish anything with it. He just moved then stopped then allowed Margo to hit him first most of the time. Under that game plan he would get worn out every time. You could tell even though he won the first couple rounds that Margo was still wearing him down.

He should have used his back peddling and movement to set traps. You know where Margo's gonna be every time.

 

I don't agree with this. Pacquiao and Margarito hurt Cotto with uppercuts to the chin and Judah only stunned him momentarily in the first with an uppercut. Torres hurt him with chin shots during exchanges. DeMarcus Corley is the only one to hurt him with a temple shot, but it wasn't a looping punch. It was a well-placed counter right hook.

Cotto handled looping and chopping right hands to the temple well from Randall Bailey and Shane Mosley both. If anything, he has to be wary of that awkwardly sneaky and long right uppercut that Mayorga was able to stun De La Hoya with.

 

Not a big fan of Marg, but I'm not going to accuse of him of loaded gloves in that fight because we really don't know. What I do know is Cotto could not stop him even though he connected with crisp flush shots. The rematch won't prove that Marg was cheating but it wil give Cotto a chance to even score.

 

Pacquiao hurt him with a looping right hook it sent his ass down in the fight, and Margarito broke him down, walked him down pressured him and hit him with looping shots as well that did big damage. you dont have to agree with me this is my view in terms of both fighters style...

What do you expect, the commissioner to sit on the fighters lap when he is getting his hands wrapped? if he is watching then he is doing his job.. now if he was sitting across the room taking a nap thats something different but I dont think that happend neither

 

It wasn't a looping shot at all nor did the punch hurt Cotto. Pacquiao dropped him with a short right hook that resulted in a flash knockdown.

I expect the NSAC representatives to do the job they were assigned to. If you're designated to oversee a fighter's hand's being wrapped, you don't sit across the room and allow your vision to be obstructed. The point I'm trying to make here, is for a commission with a reputation of being strict, this type of lax attitude shows otherwise.

Cotto ran away from Pac and got knocked out while Margarita kept moving foward and lasted the 12 rounds. Margarita will win again.
