yup...people are trying to make pac seem like a bad guy on this forum. I guess it helps them sleep at night.:-(

Fighting Pac at 145 was to Cotto's benefit...he did fight at 140 for quite some time.

Even DLH said the same **** when he was being interviewed before the PAC fight. I think it was on 24/7.

He said something like I feel really good at this weight, what the hell am I doing up there.

Pacquiao is the naturally smaller guy. No way in ****ing hell did the lower weight limit favor Cotto.

you're absolutely right!! a lower weight isn't conducive for generating speed now is it?

Did you watch the Clottey/Cotto fight? Arum was concerned about Cotto's speed and conditioning after watching that fight, hence the two pound difference.

You know...logical reasoning is obviously not your strong point so I'll just give up.

He could have come in lighter without the reduced weight limit then. The catchweight was for the smaller guy (Pacquiao). If you think they wrote that **** in for the guy who's already been fighting at 147 for a while you're a ****ing moron. Lower weight limits favor naturally smaller guys period....And don't ever question my reasoning with your failed ****ing logic, dickhead.

It wasn't really detrimental, but implying that it was to Cotto's benefit is ridiculous.

Pac's ideal weight now is 140; Cotto's is 147.........therefore having the fight at 145 seemed fair.

Cotto looked got and strong at the weight, end of. Not sure why threads keep getting made for this. Its been talked about already.

You're right...almost always does the catchweight favor the smaller man...this is the exception.

Arum made the Cotto/Pac fight at the catchweight for Cotto's benefit. Pac had no problem fighting Hoya at 147. To Pac, it made no difference. To Cotto, it made a huge difference.

What the hell are you talking about, it was cotto who refused to put his title on the line at a catchweight.

I have never heard the excuse that draining cotto was to his own benefit, that is a new one:rofl

And for your information it was roach who stipulated the catchweight not Arum. It was never Arum i there but roach's and cotto agreed.

You're absolutely wrong...tell me, who's belt is on the line if Pac fights Floyd? Pac's WBO welterweight title. The title changed hands that night...Cotto had no problem defending his title at the catchweight. Why? Because it was made for his benefit!! Shedding 2 pounds didn't drain him...after the weigh in, a lot of boxing writers favored Cotto in this fight because of how good he looked in the weigh in.

Not only are you wrong about the title not being defended, but you're wrong about this as well. Arum had stated this in an interview with Doug Fischer.

you do realise i know the belt was finally put on the line, along with the diamond belt, however what i am saying was cotto REFUSED to put his TITLE on the line if they were to fight at a CATCHWEIGHT.

Cotto has reportedly declared he would only put on the line his belt if Pacquiao agree to fight him at the welterweight category and not at the ‘catch weight’ of 145-pound.

He even said he would throw the title away if he was forced to defend it at a catchweight

OBVIOUSLY HE GAVE IN AT THE END. BUT THAT WAS HIS STANCE. DONT ACT LIKE IT WASN'T

Its not rediculous since PAcquiao's best weight is 140. So having PAcquiao fight all the way up at 145 is also a disadvanatge for PAcquiao
