If it didn't, why did Pacquiaos corner insist Cotto drain down that one pound?

they didn't insisted. if cotto doesn't feel like weighing at 145, they can weigh above it and just pay the fine. roach mentioned that they would not fight cotto if he weighs more than 147, not 145.

and cotto actually agreed to make 145. pac's team wants 143 but they agreed to 145. pac was just 138 in his previous fight while cotto was 146. cotto going down 1 while pac going up 7 pounds seems like a good deal for cotto's camp.

Wel then it was in an effort to give Pac all the advantages. Coming up in weight is usually more comfortable than someone draining down. Regardless of it being 1 pound.

I feel what you're saying. But people already saw what Manny did at that weight. He fought Cotto at the same weight he fought Oscar. So why was it such a good deal? Its not like it was uncharted territory he was walking into

Im just trying to be objective. All im saying is, if someone swears up and down that the one pound means nothing then im not saying it does, but the fact that they were so adamant of Cotto losing that one pounds proves to me that his corner wanted Cotto to come on weaker, or not as comfortable as he could be.

No different than when Cotto v Pacquiao II is in talks but Cotto refused to come back down again.

Mannys corner want to drain as much people as they can. Its just what they do.

Convoluted way to make a point like always but it is ownage of this stupid way to take away from Pacquiao.

 

That was just about as nasty of an uppercut as I have ever seen, much like Bowe Holyfield 1 round 11 difference here Cotto doesnt have that Holyfield chin or heart.

However I still think Cotto gave Manny hell in there, a little more than Roach would have wanted

 

straight right to the chin that shook cotto up and took his will to fight. yeah in those 4 rounds that coto was game, he gave pac such punishments but part of it was due to pac's stubbornness which directly disobeyed roach's instruction for pac not to stay in the pocket since this is cotto's strength. it paid off and cotto was enticed to a wild frenzy of exchanges that resulted in this shot and another one a round earlier.
