On the scene. Cotto lays out the truth, he makes more money against Margarito than Martinez.

If this were Floyd, people would say he was ducking.

In fact Cotto was offered a fight with Martinez at a 155 catchweight for the middleweight title. Cotto (or Arum really) said no.

But if Floyd were to do that, people would raise hell.

Cotto doesnt fight any top fighters unless they are with Arum (and Margo is no longer a top fighter).

He wants the big names. Even though he might lose, we would all like to see him face Martinez, but Margarito holds such importance for his career, and on top of that he only wants the big names at this stage before he retires. Martinez is a great great fighter but needs to work on promoting himself, or something.

He is ducking. Cotto knows what this means. He can get a trilogy of Margarito. He knows if he lose bad to Martinez which is likely, he would be done as a top fighter.

Well, while you do have a point, Cotto is known for taking on huge challenges and having immense balls and showing nothing but class outside of the ring. He even wants to rematch the two fighters that gave him frightening beatings. Not to mention the fact that he is a bit small for 154. But all in all, while there is a double standard, there are reasons for its existence.

Floyd is small for 154 as well, yet he is considered to be ducking MArtinez.

The fact is that Bob Arum's fights really NEVER get accused of ducking anyone, despite the fact that they mostly just fight Arum's other fighters. But EVERYONE gets accused of ducking Arum's fighters, ESPECIALLY Floyd.

Its true dumb ass Martinez had the chance when his contract came up to sign ships with another promotional banner that had top names...He chose loyalty to Dibella which is honorable, but it came at a cost.

Size don't mean **** for Floyd at 154 he still legit, his Speed and technique surpass any obstacle he may come up on with the change in weight.

Because, how many Goldenboy fighters you know fight at 147 or 154 for that matter? All of them were, or just came from 140

Cotto is at a point where he's doing a victory lap and getting his last big paychecks.

Floyd is one of the top two fighters in the game so people expect him to try to enhance his legacy.

People have different reactions because they're different scenarios.

GBP has the following at 154:

    Angulo
    Kirkland
    Alvarez
    Lara

    147:
    Floyd
Collazo (who also fights at 154)
    Ortiz

There is also Martinez, Paul Williams, Andre Berto with dibella.

Cotto has ALOT of options outside of Bob Arum's guys, and he is a belt holder at 154, so the too small argument goes out the window there.
