Although I agree with this, I am a Cotto fan and believe that this is not the fight he needs to end his career on, it would be great to see him do it, and perhaps a younger Cotto would have taken the fight. I don't think winning the mw belt was ever about anything more than legacy, he knows he is not a true mw. On a different note, I think he gives Canelo something to think about, win or lose it won't be easy for Alvarez.

 

The problem for other middleweights is they can't win. They want his title, but it comes with the taint of Cotto not being a real middleweight. Throw in the fact he doesn't seem interested in fighting a genuine middleweight and you can understand the frustration of others at 160 who simply want the strap.
He should treat it like Manny did the light middleweight belt. Job done. Legacy enhanced, back down to 154.

 

Cotto never talks.... the dude barely talks on his post fight interviews....

 

Who cares. He dont spew **** constantly like so many others. He is quite, polite and pure class. Other boxers could take notes on how to act.

 

cotto is waiting on floyds move. smart on his part cus its possible if floyd vs pac wont go thru floyd can go for cottos middle weight strap.

 

Cotto is a smart businessman...he also is in a great position with everyone at 147-160 calling for a fight with him

Anyone who fights Cotto knows if they win the only have the belt for a very short while. The MW belt doesn't look that appealing if you know it comes with a fight against GGG right after.
