Cotto is delusional and must retire, sad truth

Cotto isn't in his prime anymore, but calling him delusional is harsh. Besides, if he can still pass his medical and show himself to be in possession of his faculties, then it is completely up to him if he wants to climb into the ring. The article also appears to be largely a series of quotes strung together. It would be much more convincing if the author actually performed an analysis of the physical and mental evidence to determine if Cotto has declined to the point that he is endangering himself.

 

People say Cotto has taken too much punishment and should retire..

What about people like Margarito whos faces are walking punch bags, who have taken more punishment.

People are going way way way over the top with how bad Cotto is these days. Its obvious to everybody that he is past his prime by quite a bit, but he isnt exactly shot, put it this way I really dont think he would lose to anybody who a)isnt a stylistic nightmare for him or b) isnt right out of the absolute top drawer in the world.

 

I think they mean delusional if he thinks he can still fight the elite. I agree that he shouldn't retire. As I said, he can do very well instead guys like Vanes, Lara, Canelo, etc.

 

Gatti wasn't done though. Cotto isn't done. You want them to denied their right to fight and make a living because they've taken a couple of beatings? You can tell when a fighter is shot. Holyfield is who they have to worry about. Yet they keep granting him a license? huh?

Theres alot of boxers who need their lisence revoking before Cotto. i think he's still got a couple of fights left in him as long as he stays away from Pac, Mayweather, Martinez etc. but i wouldnt like him to boxing much further down the line. I think a chance to redeem himself agaisnt marg and then a couple of bouts with the likes of Chavez Jnr, Matiryosan etc would be a nice end to his career.

Personally id like to see Holyfield, Jones Jnr, Briggs, Rahman, Macaranelli, Barrera, Morrales and a few others have their licenses revoked before Cotto.

 

Holyfield shouldn't get a license, and quote me where I said that Cotto's license needs to be revoked.

This is either a fake article, or written by a Cotto hater. Had Margarito had the SAME exact fight with Mayorga, we would be reading about how Margarito dominated Mayorga and blasted him with a great left hook in the 12th round to win a great fight. I smell petty feminine jealous. :hi:

Cotto doesn't have a whole lot left in my estimation. It didn't look like Mayorga damaged him any further though. He should fight for as long as he wants to, he's a man, not a child.

If he believes a man in the sky watching everyone in existence on 6,000,000,000 little TV screens is gonna keep him from being demented--well, then I guess he's already there.

 

You didn't say that, I was asking you. Anyway, Cotto is not done, he's slowed down a bit, show me a fighter who hasn't in their 30s? It's really a non-issue. Cotto shows no noticable signs of cognitive deterioration or slurred speech and still handle himself at the top level in the ring.
