:good I get carried away with the anti-Cotto trolling but I try to remain logical in my analysis. I actually think Cotto could still be a decent force at LMW, I just wish he'd go back down and stay out of MW if he's not going to fully compete there.
I give Canelo the edge in the center of the ring. He has the advantage in hand speed, defense, and power. I give Cotto the advantage if he stays on the backfoot. He has better footwork, a great jab and Canelo can't cut the ring off worth a damn. I think Cotto will take an early lead. Canelo will start to come on after about 4 rounds. I'm not sure who wins.
As a cotto fan I can see him dropping like when manny dropped him the second time bcus canelo is faster IMO but I think cotto' body shot is better than Lara's and Lara was able to tag canelo there at will - I know cotto ain't Lara but u never know
Cotto was not boxing in that fight, he was pressing, brawling, and walking into shots. The only round he boxed 9 (the first round) he won easily.
counter what I said man. front foot weight is not good unless you are in the pocket throwing hooks. and why trade hooks with a larger guy with good power/counterpunching ability?
Right On CST80....I agree stongly! I always subscribed to the fact that he should have faced GGG If he is MW...!!!
I mean I think Cotto will get marked up even if he wins the fight. He jut has to box and move for he is the way better boxer. If he can keep his stamina up he will win this fight. A big if but he can def do it.
Cotto wins a UD. It will be a war in spots but Cotto will dictate when they "war". Nelo is very good especially for how young he is and he has the edge in size, but Nelo has defensive holes that suits Miguel's style that will be exploited with footwork and an educated jab. Nelo is in for a long night.....I don't think he will get knocked out but it's a possibility down the stretch If Nelo gets frustrated and begins over extending himself looking to land a one punch to turn things around. Experience and craft will supersede the youth and strength of the younger fighter. Miguel will offset Nelo early and I don't believe he will ever find his rhythm. Cotto has enough power and savvy to keep Alvarez honest and the body work of Cotto will ultimately slow the young man down enough to win a dominant UD.
Good point.....but they are two of the biggest names in the sport. They may not be real Middle weights but the title will add to their legacies....even if they never really won at the middleweight limit.....they'll still have the middleweight title on their resume.
This guy did this already in the Cotton-Geale fight. Was so sure No Mas Geale was gonna win, after the knockout guy had nothing but excuses.. LMFAO
