Jacory is a ****in tool... nothing worse then assholes who talk about STYLES being all wrong for another fighter, yet won't delve into it. Don't expect him to stay long...or create another account.

 

If Santos were any sort of banger, then this might be a different story, but his power at the weight is negligable at best, and his handspeed, while decent, is hardly at the otherwordly level that's needed to throw someone like Cotto off base. Basically, Yuri Foreman is a moderately talented, but rather well-schooled boxer whose main talent seems to be an intuitive abilty to stick to his game plan of trying to outmaneuver an opponent while feeding him just enough leather to keep him off-balance.

That's all well and good, but let's face facts...Cotto is likely going to be the more dynamic, and dare I say the more versatile of the two. MAC can work off the jab, and use his legs as required, should the need arise. And, in this case, he will more than likely be pressing in efficiant fashion and working the body well enough to gradually take Foreman off of his toes and force him to utilise a style that probably isn't to his liking.

Cotto isn't that dumb, and while Foreman isn't in any way shape or form what one would consider a gimme I still think that the reason why Cotto took this fight coming off of the loss to Pac was because he knows that Foreman isn't likely to treat him in the same fashion, and that he should match up pretty well with him in terms of styles and physical abilty, regardless of the abuse he sustained in his previous fight.

Unless he's completely shot, and I don't think that he is, this assumption will probably be correct.

This would probably backfire. At the Lopez fight, Foreman, Cotto and Tito went into the ring to wave to the crowd, and everyone booed the hell out of Foreman. If you're a New York fighter trying to draw in New York, then beating all the Puerto Ricans isn't the best way to build a fan base.

I agree this fight will look ugly, but I lean towards Cotto winning close. Yuri doesn't handle inside fighting that well (as AT1 helped prove), and I think Cotto will be able to get in there and keep Foreman from turning it into a jabbing contest. But it will probably be an ugly and relatively boring fight.

TS is a troll. No one really expects a paper champion who isnt even in the top ten at 154 to blowout a future HoFer with only 2 losses, one to an ATG and another to a cheater. I'd wager Cotto has a decent chance to frustrate and decision Foreman.

 

Cotto, is still one of the best out there.
