cotto is interested in facing mayweather jr in the fall

Oh ok. Yeah I got that on tape. I remember they were talking about Cotto taking on the winner...yeah right.

 

yeah and that's the time when cotto was green. how about the time when cotto just beat mosley and floyd just beat hatton in 2008? that was the biggest fight not only in welter back then but in the whole of boxing.

 

so the more talented fighter and greater draw, Floyd, should be playing by Cotto's schedule?:huh

i think they admitted that cotto was still raw during that time and needs more fight to be ready for someone like floyd. but when cotto picked-up more good wins and was on his peak after the mosley fight, why did floyd suddenly retired? floyd has a habit of taking a vacation when a pressumed threat has surfaced just like what he is doing now. cotto back in 2008 and pac at present.

It was Arum who vetoed it. And rightfuly so. Cotto had around 22-23 fights when Mayweather wanted him.

 

He has ever since he's become the Cash Cow. It helps him sell his fights.

 

Margarito could have had a stun gun in his gloves against Mayweather and it wouldn't have mattered because his slow ass wouldnt have laid a glove on him.

The fight didn't happen because of Arum. Mayweather wanted a 10 million guarantee to remain with Top rank and fight Cotto, and he wanted Arum to make the DLH fight for him. Arum said he would only guarantee 7mil and that the DLH fight wasn't happening.

As we all know, Mayweather went on to make the richest fight in boxing history with DLH, has turned into the biggest draw in the sport and hasnt done business with Arum since. Arum shouldn't have tried to lowball him.

I still want to see this fight, I cannot wait to see Cotto take on a master defensive boxer.

 

This would be my second choice of a bout for Mayweather, after Pacquiao obviously.

But saying that, I wouldn't be disappointed at all if Mayweather fights Cotto at the end of the year (as long as Cotto is impressive in his next outing)...I've been wanting to see this bout for a while.
