Cotto doesnt know a division called 145.

Cant say I blame him, he concedes weight so Manny concedes a title shot, fair swap 2 me

Seeing how Cotto weighed 146 for his last fight, I'd be inclined to say yes.

who cares about the titles specially a WBO belt that was won against Jennings this will be great fight between two great fighters and that is more important than a meaningless paper title.

Well if he wants the title he should just let Cotto weight in at 147. Cotto said he's willing to fight at 145, but if you want the title then let him keep those 2 pounds. It's fair.

2 pounds is actually a lot when you think about it, he's not losing fat, he's losing water. Which is plenty to drain you

It's a Welterweight fight. If one of the fighters has a WW title, it should be on the line. Cotto already got his wish to fight @145, when Manny wanted 143.

But, Cotto weighed in @ 146 for his last fight, so, it's really only one pound.

Pac is bringing more to the table and he should've been in negotiation mode during the actual negotiation and he shouldve been clear with his demands from the begining ... the welterweight limit is 141-147 ... 145 is still the welterweight limit and if the fight is at the welterweight limit then him being the champion should put his title on the line, it only makes sense.

Being bullied has nothing to do with it, especially when you're looking to make a career high payday and 8 figures in :45 min

He should know that Pac has the bigger following, the p4p king, and is more accomplished ... he's bringing the sponsors ...

If Cotto was still undefeated he would have more leverage, but he's not and he has to take what he can get ... its not going to be many times that he can make 10+ mill for a fight.

And if Cotto can win then he sets himself up for bigger fights in the future ... every welterweight is going to want to fight him and he's going to be higher on the p4p list _ maybe can even self proclaim himself as the p4p champion.

Good Job Cotto. Make somebody win a 147 belt at a 147 limit. And F the WBO. They'll hand give it to Pac if he wins anyways.

No matter what the weight is ... if its between 141 and 147 it shouldn't be a problem ... he's going to balloon up to whatever it is he rehydrates to before the fight ... I can see if they were required to weight in the day of the fight - then that would be a clear advantage to Pac but its not and he's going to have a chance to safely build himself back up.

Yeah... which is why he either weights in at 146 or 147.... Plus you are forgetting about the limit on fight night. You usually get 14 pounds to rehydrate... that cuts down to 12 pounds for cotto.

Yea man I don't understand it either. If this type of thing was the norm then I'd understand but it's not. So what's the point from Cotto.
