Earned it by beating Carlos Baldomir. I don't care how you shake it, beating Carlos Baldomir is no feat, regardless of what a sanctioning body or magazine says. You and I both know if it was Cotto, Margarito, or any other welter who took the Baldomir's title, the win would have been easily dismissed, and rightfully so. How can he earn it when Mayweather has no interest in fighting him or any other of the top welters? Don't you think it's a bit ironic that in those rankings above, out of the 10 fighters listed, Mayweather has only fought one? While his two other "welterweight" fights have come against junior-welterweights.
isnt it a bit ironic how cotto has yet to call pbf out.its all a bit strange, but the fight will happen if cotto gets past marg and maybe a household name then ... and ****pbf might even get beat by odlh.
Yeah, it's really strange because Cotto is known for calling out fighters. atsch Can you name one fighter who Cotto has called out? Only way PBF loses to Oscar is if the fight is rigged.
I wouldn't I don't work that way. Why bash Baldo for beating the champ Zab. He showed up and was ready to fight why discredit his accomplishment because you percieve him to be sub-par??? This is boxing and that's what's so great about this sport is the stories about people like Baldo winning titles against all odds and so on. He can earn it but first he needs to make PBF an offer. Until then PBF isn't ducking him and PBF is still the man at 147.:good
Mayweather's last bout was against linear light welterweight champ. His next is a rematch following on from what many have claimed was a close decision. If after that he avoids Cotto then yeah, maybe we can knock him off the top. But for the moment he's still number 1
Cotto would have ko'd Baldo, but Floyd was just influential enough to get the fight. He won the linear against a guy who beat Zab Judah(WOW:roll: ),and has done little with it. Hes neither 'the champ' or 'the man' to me. This is a classic example of how the whole linear thing is overrated and held in far too sacred a light.
Baldo is a good guy, and deserved his win over Zab, no doubt. But a good fighter, he aint. This aint disrespecting the man. It's calling a spade a spade. I commend him for making the most out of his limitations. But anyway, I got a question for you. Joel Casamayor is the lineal champ at 135. He's slated to defend his title against Juan Diaz this summer. Diaz is coming off a loss to Nate Campbell. If Diaz defeats Casa, despite losing to Campbell in his previous outing, does that make Diaz the man to beat at 135 or Campbell?
I don't hate Mayweather! I don't even dislike him! He is a good businessman!:deal That doesn't make him the man at 147 lbs, though.:deal You prove you are the man by beating the best out there regularly...when was the last time Mayweather beat the best in his own division?:huh That's right! Not for a very long time! Forget it...he is not the man!:bart :good
:huh I have no desire for you to 'explain yourself' to me.Youre opinions arent any more important to me than mine are to you. Argue Floyd should be the Dhali Llama for all i care. Its Decebels thread i looked into:deal
Use absurd hyperbole and exaggeration to smokescreen the fact that your opinion is deeply flawed, without losing face . At least youre using the classics.:good
Whoever agrees with this is bad for boxing. You lose linear int he ring. Back in the day you legitimately lose it if you ducked your mandatory. If Cotto beats Margo and then maybe Quintana again, I think Floyd could lose linear based on ducking his mandatory.
