You can't even call Martinez a cherry pick because nearly everyone thought Cotto was going to get knocked out. Even though they knew Martinez's knee wasn't great. But that didn't happen. Round 1, Martinez gets rocked with a left hook not because of his knee, but because Cotto's timing allowed him to catch Martinez over his low right shoulder. It wasn't prime Sergio but it really saddens me to see that win just totally **** on. If he were Yuri Foreman part 2 he wouldn't have lasted that long and improved on his performance after getting dropped 3 times.

I don't think Cotto is overrated. Most people don't go around asking if he's an All Time Great. But he has plenty of detractors. I think Cotto is the kind of guy who can look really average one night (especially in the later stages of his career), and really special other nights. He's very skilled, has a superb sense of timing, great ring generalship, great body attack. He's a complete fighter. Those are lacking nowadays in the sport.

Well, at least you have no disillusionment about the fact that Golovkin would brutally KO Cotto and thus become famous, as you say. So I guess Cotto is smart to run for the hills. Just tell him to leave the GGG's belts behind when he's stripped and leaves the division to run home.
