How are we overrating GG by picking him over a faded guy who enjoyed his prime years at 140-147? Cotto is too small for GG, and his chin isn't good enough to stand up to a big punching middleweight.
Good post as per usual. I like GGG's technique and his footwork. I think he's solid on both accounts. He's not super difficult to hit, however. I think Sergio would cause lots of problems with his handspeed and firepower. You've got to get his attention, and I believe Sergio has the firepower and the diverse arsenal to do it.
Triple G isnt on Cotto level. Whens that pato going to stop feeding on euro bums and step up to the big leagues.
Cotto would get sparked cold. A 5-7 undersized junior middleweight facing a concussive punching, quick handed, and crisp punching middleweight? Cotto might very well be more skilled, but he'd also be ****ed.
First off, this is a fantasy matchup. Even if GGG would come down to 154 Cotto ain't gonna' take it at this point in his career. It's all risk and little reward. Thing is Cotto fights alot smarter than he did @ 140 and 147. He'd know coming in that he's trying to avoid being ktfo while outpointing his man. Since getting his ass kicked he's become a pretty good boxer and his jab serves him well, midget arms and all. I'd have him the underdog in this fight, but a live one.
He couldn't even dance around a prime Margarito for 12 and Antonio doesn't know the meaning of footwork.
Cotto wouldn't last 6 rounds. He's an undersized junior middleweight going against one of the most devastating punchers in the sport. Is Cotto more skilled? Sure. But Golovkin's crisp punching and inside power spells disaster for Miguel. Cotto got tagged a lot by Mayorga and Margarito at 154. Golovkin is miles ahead of those guys.
GGG would beat Cotto, Kirkland and Angulo on the same night.. Im being dead serious! Old school MMA Style.. An hour rest between bouts.. I got my money on the "G" Man..
Agree...while he's definitely got power, he wasn't very fast or quick, and his defense is suspect, I think Martinez beats him and would favor Chavez as well.
Golovkin will give Cotto a beating. TOO BIG & TOO STRONG for Cotto who got his face brutalised by a Former Flyweight in Manny Pacquiao. GENNADY GOLOVKIN RECORD: 24-0 (21 KO's) This content is protected
