The reason why he never signed a contract with GBP or Top Rank is to give himself options. More fighters should follow suit. :good
To many are selling Cotto short. I believe he can win. It's going to be a tough fight for both men. He's going to have to cut off the ring and walk Martinez down to get the victory. If he can't he's going to loose this fight.
Cannot wait for the tickets to go on sale.Cotto at the Gardens is a must see event.Have not missed a single fight when Cotto is at the Gardens. Pints at the Flying Puck, which is next door to Penn Station, catch the fights and all a 15 minute jaunt from my condo.:thumbsup Priceless!
atsch C'mon son....Floyd is not going to face GGG:nut Now Cotto is taking a big risk with little reward in my view:think I always liked Cotto with less weight so to move up more is too risky. Cotto, unlike some, always seeks out fighters to push him inside the ring. I want Cotto to win but I also want to win the lotto.:rofl Have a great Christmas :good :smoke
Especially since his "poor" performance in the Murray fight seemed more a result of his reflexes going than being injured. Time waits for no man.
Now that would be the way to shock 2014:good Think about it, you can still be on HBO or SHOWTIME, look at Porter he has no promotor, and we could see all the fights we ever dreamed of with this or it might crash:huh Anyway that is a valid point Super Hans:good :smoke
I'm backing Cotto on this one solely because of his guts, If all top guys are like him then we boxing would be so much bigger.
Martinez on fight night is gonna outweigh Cotto massively, thats the key. As alluded to earlier, Martinez will probably never get back to his best, but he has power to trouble any middleweight, let alone a guy coming up in weight. As time has gone on I give Cotto a better chance, but I still can't see him beating Martinez. At some point he is going to get buzzed by Martinez, and when that happens I can't comprehend anything other than a stoppage.
