What makes Pacquiao hit harder than Margarito, Mosley and Clottey is his speed. Mosley is the only one in that list with serious speed and at that stage no one can deny that Cotto showed more speed. Pac will be TOO fast and too active for Cotto, that's the difference. Mosley rocked/hurt Cotto numerous times but couldn't keep biting as he ran out of gas, Pac will be all over his ass when he gets him hurt nonstop.

Pacquiao hits hard for a little guy no doubt i remember moorer saying pac hits like a heavyweight..i guess we will have to wait and see i for one do not see Cotto going down in this fight and i see him getting the victory over Pac. but it will be a close competitive bout for sure.

    Freddy forbids him? Good heavens...

He's a big puncher at FW and SFW, but he took 9 rounds or so to put Diaz out (great finisher though) at LW. He landed on Oscar, full force, constantly and couldn't put him down (now Vargas had POWER and he really shook Oscar up) or seriously shake him. Hatton had been out before against Floyd (no huge banger) and was in serious trouble against Lazcano (no big puncher). He'd looked vulnerable since Tyszu.

He's a good puncher with some pop and speed, but he's not as hard punching as Mosley who didn't do too much to Cotto.

Like I said in my previous post, David Diaz and Jorge Solis both made similar statements after they fought Manny, and they were much smaller than Oscar.

People assume that because he walked through Tszyu's right hands with little to no effect. But what they fail to realize is Tszyu needs extention on his shots to generate power, and Hatton smothered his punches virtually the whole fight. Ricky even said after the fight in an interview that he never really felt the full sting of any of Kostya's punches.

Hatton was always susceptible to being hurt by quick handed fighters. Luis Collazo and Eamon Magee both had him in serious trouble with punches he didn't see coming.

Oscar has NEVER been hurt by a head shot even at middleweight. Speed and foot movement will decide this fight. Pac is gonna literally run circles around Cotto.

Pac could have KOed Diaz within 1-3 rounds but he didn't because he was testing his new weapon the right hook.

Oscar wasn't knocked down because of his tight guard and height advantage and besides the plan was to soften Oscar first and KO him in the later rounds but Oscar surrendered to avoid being KOed.

Cotto's height advantage is negligible so we should see Pac deliver an early knock down to Cotto just like what happened to Hatton.

LMAO at any who actually believes Pac is faster or hits harder than Shane Mosley. Pac's last 3 opponents have been seriously slow, which made him look much faster. His speed and power above 130 is being seen as greater than it actually is.

    Cotto can handle his speed.

Keep laughing because Shane may be able to match hand speed but not foot and upper body movement at this point.

When he gets hit by Pac's 4-punch combo he will forget about his defense and his warrior instinct will take over and that will be his downfall.

It sounds unbelievable but Pac can take Cotto's punches pretty well that's why his not even worried and just keep on shooting movies. While Cotto is training hard because he knows how dangerous Pac is and that Pac can possibly KO him.

DLH has a granite chin and PAC was moving up 2 weight classes. it takes time for any fighter to get acclimated to a new weight..especially moving up 2 divisions. PAC has the speed and enough pop to cause some major damage to cotto if he's accurate enough and busy enough. Landing a perfectly placed punch will put anyone out if you have enough pop and PAC surely has that. Cotto's Chin isn't bad but its not like Oscar's either. I think PAC can stop Cotto, not like he did Hatton unless he has the perfect opportunity and lands the perfect punch but an accumilation of offense can surely cause the fight to be stopped early.
