Timothy Bradley is one of my favorite athletes in the world. Not just boxer, ATHLETE....That said, if matched up with Miguel Cotto for the lineal 160 lb. championship, he WILL lose by KO.

    1. Timothy Bradley is barely a welterweight, and he has nothing in his punches to keep a guy like Cotto off of him. Bradley is a small welter and Cotto was a small Junior Middleweight....yet these two will be fighting for THE middleweight championship of the world. Guys like Golovkin, Quillen, Murray, Rubio, etc deserve an opportunity at the middleweight championship but will be forced to wait.

    2. One of the things I'm sure we like most about Timmy will be his undoing if this fight happens....he's a better defensive fighter than Cotto, and when disciplined can nearly outbox anybody...but his problem is that if he gets clocked with something, he WILL engage in a brawl and that will be the end for him with a guy like Cotto.

Horrible, unnecessary matchup if it happens and I won't be buying

When this fight got mentioned, it was to be at 154. Why does everyone keep assuming Bradley would jump to MW and be sanctioned by the WBC? He has no ranking.

You shouldn't be facing Cotto when you have no power.

I would agree if he weren't going in there with Cotto....Cotto's a thinker in there and Bradley won't be able to outbox him long enough...he's getting caught and likely finished.....and I still can't believe they're trying to make this for the lineal middleweight title

True but you need to keep your opponent honest with something.

    Floyd had the defensive ability
Trout had the height and reach and decent power (from size)

Bradley has??? not the defensive ability of Floyd, no power to make Cotto think twice. Would be quite the win for Bradley...his stamina would be key in this fight. If he could keep even with Cotto for the first 4 rounds then it could move in Bradleys favour as the fight goes on.

And, forgot to mention, even if somehow Bradley wins.....he's the lineal middleweight champion? So Bradley - Golovkin becomes the fight at that weight? gtfoh...

What has Cotto done in the past several years other than beat a guy who could barely walk and should not have been medically cleared to fight? Lost to a few big names, beat some tune-ups? Compare to what Bradley has done.

Cotto is a very mysterious fighter to me. He does practically nothing and still has legions of over-the-top fans.

Bradley and Cotto have about an equal chance of beating Golovkin (0%), so that's a moot point.

Cotto is the WBC champ at MW. Any fight has will be for that title. Luckily for him, the WBC has rules in place that allow them leadway to approve any challenger they want.

Yep GGG would be the number 1 contender.

But whoever beats Cotto at 160 lbs is champ based on him Beating Martinez who beat Pavlik who beat Taylor who beat Hopkins the then WBC,WBA,IBF and WBO titles.

GGG is likely the best at the weight though but as of yet he has never beat a 160 lbs title holder.

If Bradley wins, he rematches Cotto. If he beats Cotto again, he rematches Pacquiao at a CW of 150 for the MW title.

Bradley would not beat Cotto, period. Especially close to 160.
