  5. Bottomline: In order to whoop an ass... you gotta believe you can and reduce the level of respect to NOTHING. Be smart... and go in KNOWING the man before you is human like you with two hands... and a chin that can be cracked regardless. That's how I roll. The minute Douglas decided to refuse Idol worship of Mike Tyson...Tyson was in for a long night and a KTFOing.

Much of a fighter's arsenal lay in the hands of his oppenent and the BELIEF his oppenent has in his own inferiority.

Cotto was as impressive against Clottey as Floyd was with Castillo the first time around given the circumstances. When you're dominant eye is cut to **** like that its hard to gain any sort of focus, accuracy or defense going. Despite all this ****, he managed to get a flash KD against a guy who has NEVER been down. Cotto has been EXCELLENT with his timing. Could we see it again? :think

Im not sure why people are constantly saying the pressure was getting to him in the rematch? This is getting dramatically overplayed. At NO POINT was Margarito getting to Cotto or landing ANYTHING of significance, so why there's a glint of hope for some sort of weakness in that fight is beyond me.

Cotto only backs up when you put equal amount of pressure upon him. Floyd doesnt present that sort of output or pressure. Even when Clottey, who fights with limited punch volume to Floyd, was walking Cotto down in the later rounds he wasn't really doing much. Cotto outworked him and he lost a decision.

I guarantee Floyd will look like **** and there will be a highly anticipated rematch.

    Good insight on the trainer....
Also, for Diaz's unwavering confidence in a Cotto victory over Mayweather...he either has to be Delusional, Naive or heartless to mislead Cotto.
I believe he is none of the above mentioned!!!

I think he is everything we see from him and has brought Cotto to another level in his confidence and tactical adjustments.

I've never bet money before on any fight...only lunches, dinners and cigars.
However I am putting some down on this one just for the HELL of it!!!!

    Go Cotto!!!

You do realize that knock down on Clottey came in like the first round before the cut and "Clottey walking him down" so you day he got a knock down despite of what, like I said Cotto to me look as good offensively in the second fight as he did in the first fight, his stamina was better and he engaged or traded less the second time around...

Cotto should have never lost to Tony in the first place he's just a crude pressure fighter with no skill any elite fighter should outbox him Tony's best win is Cotto, his resume isn't that great anyway in the 8th and 9th Cotto started to slow and Marg did start to land more often than earlier, this fight proves nothing in terms of if Cotto has improved in my opinion, maybe Miguel will make it a good fight, maybe he could pull off the upset, but I highly doubt it...

This is a better assertion....am i wrong but i think you were thinking that Margo was going to beat Cotto in the 2nd fight? I could be wrong. Anyways i agree I doubt that Cotto can pull the upset but what i do believe can happens is a fight much closer than people think. A fight were if by any chance Cotto hurts Money could be over. A fight where people will start questioning if Money has lost some of his skills....kind of like Paquiao vs Marquez 3

We have to remember, the only few times Cotto has gone on the backfoot has been after many rounds of WAR.. where his opponents also came out very damaged as well...

Versus Margarito, i mean the dude was plastered...

Versus Pacman, at 145; Cotto was fight, he wasn't drained.. he lost fair and square but look at all Pacman had to take in order to give in that fight... If Mayweathe wants to do that type of Damage, he will have to take damage, i just don't see that happening.. I see Mayweather winning a UD... 115-113 close enough for a rematch to take place, with Miguel Cotto giving Mayweather his most difficult fight since Castillo.. it's a win-win for Miguel Cotto... Cotto will have many moments in the fight, and we get a rematch...
