If this is a PPV then HBO has lost its mind they were disappointed with Martinez Cotto numbers, and they think Cotto fighting a guy about as well known as Delvin Rodriguez, will sell, not sure what their logic is. This is a tougher fight for Cotto than people this it is, if it happens.
lineal doesn't necessarily mean legitimate. he was less shot than the completely shot martinez. whoop dee doo. cotto has never fought once at 160 lbs (middleweight), and apparently doesn't intend to. that's the problem with fans and why we get raped with bad fights, image and titles are more important than substance.
Hershman wants it on regular HBO if it happens. HBO does not think this is PPV, Cotto is the one insisting. Place blame where due.
I was just saying, though. You seemed to be saying that Cotto isn't a middleweight in response to Lee not being on his level. Well, you don't need to be a middleweight to be too formidable at this point for Lee. He is struggling lately with light middleweight ranging from an once-exposed former prospect (against whom Andy scored a lucky punch to save his skin) to a lowly Euro scene journeyman. Even if we are to say that Cotto right now is just a really good junior middle - that is still good enough to have the current Lee not be on his level. This newly (or rather once more) super aggressive version of Cotto might just blow Andy out before his size, length, and southpaw trickery can become factors.
Lee or Geagle.... = I think we would all agree Lee is a more stiffer opponent than the fighter Triple GGG just took upon or at the very least on the same level. They are just prepping their way towards Canelo vs. Cotto 2015.... it's a good fight, but not on PPV.
I'd rather buy a few PPV 'events' of porn in 6 hour blocks. Or maybe just spend the $75 at a strip club. The fight should be on regular HBO.
I looked up the article myself and read it because I had sneaking suspicion that Cotto was not saying he particularly wants to fight Andy Lee on ppv, and rather, just that he wants his next fight on ppv...and of course, I am correct (lol). If you read the article you can see that team Lee is talking to Arum only, who is saying that he thinks Cotto's next fight should not be on ppv, which makes sense if it's gonna be Lee. Obviously if he successfuly force feeds the Lee fight to Cotto, Cotto will more than likely realize that the fight cannot be on ppv. http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post/_/id/10035/could-cotto-face-andy-lee
