Maybe somebody can enlighten me on this - would Cotto really make more money off of a dud PPV than a highly rated regular cable fight? Let's say it does 250k buys. Is that actually more profitable than a WCB telecast?
Yes. Lets assume the cost is as low as $60. After the carriers and PPV production take their chunk, that probably leaves somewhere around $25 per buy for the promotion. At 250k thats 6.25million. So after B-side and promoters and etc take their share, Cotto still going to make around 4mil.
PPV rumor debunked. Cotto got a date on regular HBO on 12/13. Opponent is yet to be named. Lee is just a rumored fight. Talks have not even taken place between camps.
Depends what the undercard is. I don't know anyone else in the TR stable that could be on the undercard worth buying
If the main event is crap, don't expect much from the undercard. In addition to that, Arum will be involved and he's not exactly known for his intriguing undercards.
It's all talk. In The past few months we have had talk of Lee fighting GGG, Quillin, Cotto. These are some of the biggest names in boxing. Andy is so far away from the likes of them it's not even funny. What is also not funny is that Andy is continuing with a boxing career that is clearly going nowhere and taking unnecessary punishment in the process.
