Cotto probably walks around at 165-170. I heard he was up to 178 after the Margo loss. More guys should take after Hopkins. When he was a middleweight, he never blew up in weight, always staying around 165 so camp was used just to sharpen his skills.

Cotto walks around heavier than Paul Williams.

#1. Besides what many of you might think, walking around at 20-25 lbs over their weight class is very common today. Cotto is a little stocky, but not really a big WW. DLH, Tito, Margarito, P.Williams, and a few others are over 5'10". Even Floyd is a 1 inch taller and has 5 inches more reach. Cotto is not that muscular either.
#2. He actually say he is about 17 pounds from the weight. He is been training 3 days a week for about 2 weeks only. He still has 3 months to lose 17 pounds. But I am sure Cotto will try to be as light as possible fight night without being dehydrated. He needs speed and stamina against Manny. I see Cotto losing 7 pound this month and the other 10 in the last two. That sounds perfect.

Doesn't Paul walk around at 160-165? He's tall as hell for his weight class (all three of the ones hes competed in actually), but frame-wise, he isn't that big at all. That's why I think he fits better at 154 than 160. At middle, you've got guys draining and walking into the ring over 170.

If Cotto comes in at 160+ during the fight, he may be able to punch harder but he will be too sluggish for Pacquiao. I believe it's safe to assume that he will be a sitting duck for Pacquiao. Coz Pacquiao won't go toe to toe with Cotto. Pacquiao will do the same thing he did to ODLH.
