If Canelo was better at cutting off the ring I'd have to make him a solid favourite. Cotto's movement is what gives him a great chance. Pivoting off his front foot while firing a regular jab could prove a good antidote to the Mexican's semi-automatic ways. Saul may bust him up enough to win but I'm not sold on his ability to trap the opponent. It will also be interesting to see how he digests Cotto's hook.

I just want Cotto to lose just because he thinks he so important that he doesn't have to fight fighters at the weight class he's a "champion" in. Its ludicrous that the WBC would even allow this. Their championship is for 160 not 155.

It should be a close fight. We've seen Cotto get outboxed a few times, Canelo has decent counter punching skills just has to make sure to get respect from Cotto early. I think Canelo will win a decision 8 rounds to 4, the first 6 rounds split in a good competitive fight then Canelo taking over as the fight goes on and Cotto's punch output lowers and he goes in a defensive shell

I like Cotto, but for the sake of boxing I hope not. I'm sick of the WBC title being held hostage. Canelo is a MW though, and I don't think he would. He always wants to challenge himself.

Can't really pick a winner here. If there were a gun to my head, I'd say Canelo, but with not much confidence.

Why hate on Cotto? guy has fought everyone, Maragarito Twice, once who knows, maybe even with plaster in his mitts (NO ONE WILL EVER REALLY KNOW ????) but I tell you what, I do know it took incredible ***** to fight that piece of garbage again. Cotto, has ducked no one and if he gets passed Canelo, he will accept and most likely get smashed by GGG, but he deserves your respect, he has ducked no one, sure Sergio was gimpy! yet I didn't see anyone else moving up to task that ass. So please call him soft, overrated, but remember Cotto is a throwback fighter and a warrior who has been good for the sport and been in many great fights, so give the man his due respect.

I think Cotto takes this on points.

Canelo doesn't have the gas tank, the pressure, the one punch power, or (and maybe most importantly) the FEET, to take Cotto down.

Cotto has been in with better comp over the whole of his career and his last couple of fights have probably built his confidence up where he needs it to be.

Canelo imo is simply the better fighter in every faze of the game.

I think Canelo is quicker and faster which will make it extremely difficult for Cotto to be able to outbox Canelo.

Cotto's only chance imo is in a brawl and at that game Canelo has the better chin that he'll outlast Cotto.

I see a stoppage win for Canelo. He'll outbox Cotto, then stop him before round 10.
I don't think it will be very competitive, especially past the 6th round.

Let's hope so, hombre. We wouldn't want Mehico's best fighter getting knocked out by a shopworn midget. That'd be embarrassing as ****.

Stamina would determine who is the victor in this fight.
