I tell you, those are all good points but the same points can be made in Mayweather's favor to see him beating Cotto. Most people on here just hate Floyd's guts and want to see his ass beat. Whether it's Hatton, DLH, Gatti, the same senseless rambling comes from it. "Floyd gets hit here, this won't work against so and so, he has no chin, he has no power" and each and every time they end up sucumbing to Mayweather's ability.

2009, assuming PBF and Cotto win in the end of 08' will be the year the fight is made, I promise that. It will be a classic battle between a very good fighter and a great fighter.

Tyson 180, although I don't like Floyd, I am objective about his skills as the best in the game. Until recently, I picked him to beat Cotto. Other posters, like Brooklyn, have been picking Cotto for some time. It took me a while to catch up, but I now believe they are right.

If Floyd becomes a more active fighter, and takes some meaningful fights this year which challenge him mentally and physically (meaning keep him an active, sharp fighter), I may question my prediction. But he is an inactive fighter, talking about fighting guys he knows he can beat again with relative ease. Fighters need more than that to retain their greatness, especially on the other side of thirty.

GREAT POST MAN!!! I hate to agree but I have to agree with you! In every great boxer there is always somebody who will be a great threat to his career/excellent record!

    For PBF's career, it's COTTO!

Brooklyn how do you favor Cotto? By decision? And if you don't mind how do you see the fight?

No, Floyd and Shane don't fight the same way. Shane was trading with Cotto the whole fight, Floyd would never dare to do this, his little offense output is what will cost him the fight.

ill say cotto has the real pressure style not that bull**** hatton does.hes fast as **** for a power fighter and his left jab aint palying no games.of course he was in there with a guy that was suppose to make him look good, thats why he came out showing his ass in that fight.

he was suppose to win that fight and it was suppose to be a easy fight for him and well it was, but he did look good busting gomez up.great show of skill and power in that fight.

i think mayweather is taking notes, i bet he seen the fight, even if in a interview he says he did not watch it, i think he did see it.

except Cotto is the better body puncher and is much stronger than Floyd...one other major thing...You don't know what to expect from Cotto. Is he going to box, brawl, or both? Will he switch to Southpaw since it worked for Judah in the 1st 5 rounds of their fight? Will he attack floyds body or head hunt. Cotto's offensive arsenal will keep Floyd on his toes. We all know what Floyd is going to do, the key is make Floyd become more defensive than ever.

Thanks Whit, for your comment and also for being reasonable about the post. I could easily make one to support the other side of the arguement that would be just as valid (if I believed Mayweather would win), and truth be told, its a real toss up fight and I can't wait. Nobody really knows what is going to happen.
