Nah, leave him at 154. He will get the rematches he wants at 154 and not 147.

LMAO at people who think Cotto can still make 140!!! He looked seriously drained at 140lbs early in his career.

he even said during the negotiations for the pac fight that he couldnt do anything less than 145 because that would be risking his health.

I def. agree... Unfortunately for some reason Arum hates Cotto so much he brainwashes him again to fight Margarito at 154 and not only that but in Nevada:patsch Cotto should start becoming more outspoken esp. in his last few years in boxing. If smart he should request this fight at 150 like the Manny team did and also in the East Coast which is only fair since the first happend in the West Coast:good

yes, if he was dedicated thats his best weight, he loses all his advantages above 140 he is a lazy Jr Welter and has no buisness above 140

I think 147 is a good weight for him...I thnk after Margo, depending how it all goes and if Sergio fight can't be made then he should definitely take the 147 route on his way out...

Of course, he's definitely a welterweight. He moved up, out of Pac's division and into what was then a division with Yuri Foreman holding a major strap. I always figured he'd go back down if a Berto type fight became available, whether he was successful or not.

This, it was all tough fights for him at 147, whilst 154 offered an easy belt. If a good fight presents itself at 147, he's there.

Cotto was already too small for his style in the WW division. He was lucky that the division has gotten smaller. 10 years ago when DLH, Trinidad, Forrest, Mayorga (prime) and Mosley (prime) were living there, Cotto would never have made it. He would probably have stayed at LWW just to be sure. Cotto had enough trouble with the LWWs Torres, Corley and Judah.

cotto is 5'7" and he fought at 132 in the amateurs while guys like dlh and tito who are a lot taller fought at 130 and 140 ... cotto always been a lazy boxer that doesnt eat right or trains as hard as he should... he couldve fought at 130 and 135 but he didnt want to train hard so he fought at 140 and went up to 147
