It does, people just dont know how to apply that logic correctly. I had my reasons for picking Pac to beat DLH. Although I did officially pick Pac by KO in the later rounds, I did acknowledge that he may stop Hatton early if he catches him, and was confident enough that I put a bet down on him to win by KO inside 3. I also predicted and bet on Pac to KO Cotto although I was 1 round off. Pac doesn't really defy logic, its all there if you look hard enough. Everyone knew Pac was a p4p puncher, fat feet, fast hands, better skills than Hatton, just handled Oscar at 147. Hatton meanwhile just got shaken by Lazcano, KTFO by FMJ, wobbled by Collazo...all the signs were there for Pac to stop him. As with Cotto, I thought it was a tougher fight but again, Pac had the better foot and handspeed, seriously underrated boxing skills and can bang, so I dont understand why anyone would outright pick Cotto.
I agree with this. Watching Pac and Cotto footage, even before Pac's move up against Oscar and before Cotto fought Margarito, I don't see how anyone who knows their boxing would pick Cotto over Pacquiao.
i picked cotto because i thought cotto would be too big too strong and powerful, plus cotto is a good boxer, obviously hasn't got jmm's counter punching skills but good enough to cause alot of problems.
You know, Cotto's skills don't scratch the surface of JMM's skills. Not just for counterpunching but also for reflexes, reading his opponent and putting combinations together. Pacquiao is actually a very skilled boxer compared to Cotto and I know people have a hard time getting that through their heads but its true. He moves better, reads opponents better, blocks punches better, and more... Watch Cotto vs Judah and see how often Cotto is out of position. How easily Judah goes through his guard when he lets his hands go. Cotto was stronger and bigger than Pacquiao but its not enough to overcome the gap in ability.
What's funny is how this black kid goes on about how he can't wait to bump this thread , then after the fight he makes sure not to come anywhere near it ... Shows his character ... Someone should link this thread to him
Size & Strength is all we ever hear for their reasons to picking the opponent. Some people actually gave Diad Diaz a chance, based on him being bigger. Many picked the likes of Juan Diaz to beat Pac, because they would be too big and strong. Same reasons were used for DLH, Hatton & Cotto. I think for some people, their analysis is limited to the 1 factor in size & strength.
Past posts from him , claims about black people/ fighters .. Etc .. Plus he's from cinncinatti ... So I deduced .. I am not racist , just can't stand racially bias fans .. The mexican fans who still defend margarito and claim innocence for him bother me the most
I agree. Guys like freddy-wak & Divac will claim Pac is on the juice with 0 evidence yet proclaim Margo's innocence.
you know, when I make an analysis of who i think will win, I can't even name the factors that I consider in the outcome I predict. Its not like I make a list saying Power to A, Jab to B, Speed to B, Skills to A, etc. Everything gets melted into there. Sometimes the same factors could make a difference in one fight but not in another. I think that there's no subsitute for watching several fights back to back and then trying to see how the fighters match up. Personally, I like to watch in slow motion.
JMM went life and death with fat Juan Diaz who got his ass kicked twice by Malignaggi who is gay and also sucks.
