Cotto/marg hbo 24/7

No, I don't mean it that way. I mean, no one knows for sure, even the commission didn't charge Margo for using loaded wraps, he was charged with not using regulation wraps/a foreign object in his wraps, which is why he was only suspended and not banned for life.

Cotto has spoken up about it, and it's been noted. But he just keeps going on about it.

Why doesn't he just let his fists do the talking in the rematch - which will definitely be a level playing ground as far as gloves/wraps are concerned - if he's so convinced Margo used loaded gloves?

See, he never said anything straight after the fight about how hard Margo was hitting and that he suspected he used loaded gloves. Now he's saying he never had someone from his camp attend Margo's handwrapping so therefore Margo was able to load his gloves. He's also continually saying he gassed after the 6th round. When someone uses multiple excuses for something, it's an indicator that they're reaching and trying to create doubt so people will believe him.

To me, it all sounds a bit like revisionism - like Cotto doesn't know for sure, but he's trying to convince himself, because he can't accept that Margo beat him down like he did unassisted. Hence my point about him feeling Margo's first punch in the rematch and realising that he is hitting that hard without loaded gloves.

 

Agreed - if Cotto feels so strongly about it, he either shouldn't have agreed to give Margo a rematch, or he should just STFU and prove he's right by smashing Margo in the rematch.

 

I hope Cotto does smash Antonio Margarito in a couple of weeks time and good.

I believe this is what happened in their first fight, and I think it will happen in the rematch :good

Margo still takes this for me , love Cotto but Marg proved he will walk through hell before to get the W , Ps no one knows for sure if the gloves were loaded and if they were it defo wasn't concrete in them Jetty us mad bugger .

 

As much as it hates me to say this as a massive Cotto fan...Margarito's chin was not made of plaster.
Margarito ate up everything Cotto threw at him in the 1st fight & kept on applying immense pressure.

Hope Cotto comes in with the right gameplan & targets Margarito's body & the eye socket he had all these issues with.

 

Would the hellacious beating he took from Pac have caused the eye socket damage?

Yea I think so Beave , Cotto was ****ed mid fight from what I saw , marg was just waiting for him to totally blow himself out , sure Cotto was still firing but there wasn't anything on em , one thing for sure mate I can't ****ing wait for this fight .

See, Cotto happily admits he gassed in the 6th round, but then claims Margo's loaded gloves were what caused the damage, but Margo was working him to the body relentlessly in those early rounds - granted, he was taking 6 punches to the head to land one or 2 rips - but it's just that he never stopped. Then when Cotto gassed, Margo just kept coming at him, and Cotto didn't have the juice to evade him or defend himself.

Cotto gassed because he threw everything at Margo in an effort to keep him off him - when that didn't work, it started to **** with Cotto's mind - Margo broke him mentally before he broke him physically.

You look at Margo's punches - his uppercuts come from the ground up through his big frame...he swings his upper body like a gate when he throws his hooks...he doesn't have a jab to speak of, but he knows how to put power into the rest of his arsenal...against the almost stationary target that Cotto was in the second half of the fight, of course they're going to be hard punches.

Yet everybody points to loaded gloves as the reason for what happened :roll:
