No. Cotto fought perfectly and lost. No need for another beating. I could understand if he had Margo in trouble during the fight, but Cotto hit him with everything he had and still couldn't hurt him.
I do. If he changes his gameplan a little bit and stays more on the outside and away from the ropes he should do better. Plus, he needs to go to the body to have a chance next time.
if he fights smart like he didnt the first time... how about a ****in clinch or two BEFORE you're gassed and stop sitting on the god damn ropes and moving backwards while eating punches the whole time.
There's no point in a rematch. Best ting for Cotto to do is go after another of the welterweight titles and hope that Margarito can no longer make weight and moves to 154.
It would be closer but cotto cant hurt margarito. Maybe if he gos to the body but i think margo has his number.
Cotto wins by wearing his opponents down, breaking them down. This is how he compensates for his defensive holes (leans forward too much, very succeptible to uppercuts, etc, etc.). With an opponent who can't be worn down, with equal power, an iron chin, longer reach, greater height and a much higher workate, his strengths are neutralized. I didn't see how Cotto could win before the fight, and I don't see how he could win in a rematch.
The only way Cotto can beat Margarito would require even more boxing skills from Cotto. First he has to lift weights and get a little bit stronger. Secondly he has to learn how to hold and clinch properly. Finnaly he has to focus on the body far more than he did. If Cotto would have held and clinched he would have limited his punch output and kept Margo out of his game.
