This changes things. Cotto has a difficult time with the strength, power and tenacity. He'd neutralise that with skill and his own talent but Marg is huge.

Cotto should get real props for bringing this one home.

height only matters when the taller fighter fights from the outside/stands up tall and boxes and moves.

cotto v margarito is not going to be about margarito attempting to outslick cotto, so the height difference comes less into play.

physical strength will play a part in the fight and its possible margarito will have the advantage in this dept.

Marg looks bigger here but Cotto has that square build. It always surprises me to see how much they loose when it comes to making weight. I think the height and reach will be more of a problem for Cotto but I think he'll pull through ok. Does anyone know the difference in arm reach between these two?

Cotto-Williams would be a huge size difference.

margarito would be at a disadvantage when he elects to bang with cotto inside due to his longer arms.

J.R. speaks the truth. Size difference doesn't really matter. Cotto is huge inside the ring, and based on his weight between fights (and on fight night), he's more like a small middleweight chopping his body down to 147...

Cotto and Mosley on a press conference:

On fight night it didn't seemed that way:

Physically Miguel Cotto and Sebastian Lujan are very similiar. It should worry you Cotto supporters that Margarito had tremendous success with uppercuts against Lujan. As Margarito went on he adapted to the style of Lujan and started to find openings as he worked harder and built up the pressure.

It seems concievable that Cotto will start fast and try to outpace Margarito as far as adaptations are concerned. But if that uppercut finds a home it's gonna be a hard night for Cotto.

Should note too that Lujan tried to press Margarito but as the fight wore on Lujan was the one backing up and Margarito was coming forward. I think the uppercuts and the body shots had a big effect on Lujan. Lujan really didn't do much beyond the 5th besides move his head and try not to get hit.

For a small guy, Cotto looks one tough son of a gun.

this will be a great fight without any doubt. This is what boxing is all about, not the bull**** fights from the likes of DLH, Hatton and Mayweather.
Margarito is a seriously sturdy ******* and it'll be fascinating to see if Cotto can put a dent in him.

On fight night it will be a Middleweight Vs. a Jr. Middleweight. (Unoficial weights)
let's see who stands up to the test.

I got Margarito by K.O. (Say round 6'ish)

It may look scary, Margarito being 4 inches taller then Cotto, but it won't matter if Cotto fights a smart fight. Gomez yes was taller but isn't on the same level nor near it as Cotto and Margarito is.

It will definitely be a tough fight which may go the full 12 rounds. It will test these two very much.
