Virtually everyone has "boxed brilliantly" against Margarito in the early going - Lujan, Clottey, Williams, ect, to name a few. Cotto is still getting more hype than anyone else for the same basic work. The question is can Cotto withstand Margarito's pressure and power when Antonio starts making contact and catching up to him? One of the only reasons Cotto got off to such a good start was because Margarito didn't let his hands go and he kept waiting on Cotto to initiate. Margarito was trying to counterpunch for some stupid reason. Finally he realized he could just bore in on Cotto and throw punches. Cotto stands no chance whatsoever in a rematch. He'll get done like Cintron. I'll literally laugh out loud if he's that stupid. Cotto will destroy his career potentially with another ass whooping. For pride.
Hater? not at all. I've already given Margo his props on the win.. I made a post on it. STFU? I also just said that the broken nose did play an important factor... but IN MY OPINION the body shots didn't.. You can think otherwise, its my opinion vs your opinion. Belief vs Belief... who are you to say I'm wrong? Have you ever seen Cotto being hurt by a body shot? or being tired at the end of fights? Only thing I saw happeneing different in this fight was Cotto's boxing off the ropes and throwing 30+ punches per round which he jsut couldn't do for 12 rounds. Like I've said.. If Cotto gets his stamina up I believe he could win a rematch. Do I think he should get a rematch right off the back? No I do not.. I believe he should have 2 or more fights with fighters such as Clottey, Berto, Cintron, ODLH.. maybe even Williams. Then afterwards I would like to see a rematch IF Cotto has increased his stamina.
LMFAO what? Cotto was the one countering idiot. Obviously Cotto can withstand Margo's pressure since he was doing so up until he took those knees which I believe were due to exhaustion not hurt. I believe he would've been hurt if his corner allowed him to continue though.. He could barely hold his defense up in those later rounds.
Margarito by stoppage again, would love to see Cotto win more than anything and will definitely have my hopes high for him coming out victorious but I just think that Margarito has his number and will just pressure and pressure till he breaks him down again. If Cotto is able to avoid those uppercuts and not get his nose busted and bleed heavily as he did in the first fight then I'll give him a way better chance, this is still a close tough one but will pick Margarito in the rematch. Cotto's confident might not be the same as it once was here and a tune-up before an instant rematch should be way better.
You are a ****ing moron fanboy who got OWNED. :rofl :rofl Margarito was walking Cotto down, but Cotto was the one getting off. Margarito was getting in close but waiting on Cotto and trying to counter. You don't know **** about boxing. ****ing fool.
Probably the dumbest guy here, literally. ^ I can't believe this idiot said the bodywork had no effect. WOW. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
LMFAO I don't know ****.. Maybe you should watch the fight again and see how Margo would throw punches and then Cotto would retaliate with his own flurries and move out the way. That I believe is called boxing/countering Yes I'm a ****ing Cotto fan... Point is?
I dont think Cotto can do much better to be honest.... i was crushed and actually still in shock over the fight... but honestly, cotto fought great... but he cant keep that up for 12 rounds.... I think Margarito would beat him just as bad if not worse in a rematch.... i guess the best would be Cotto could make it to the finish, he was one round away last time, but imo hes just too 'small' and i mean that as... well, how its stated... margarito is just too big to go along with his quality.... Margarito wins again...
Not much man, still semi-dazed from Cotto's loss and depressed. Good job man, you got it right on there, won't be a sore loser about it. :good
Hope so, a tune-up will at least some questions for him and others, including a confidence booster to boot. I wonder why Margarito's team aren't trying to get him a rematch with Williams, if a fight with Judah/Clottey winner is a semi tune-up for Margarito then it's also fair, this guy has been in some tough fights lately and deserves a quickie after the extremely serious and tough training camp he had to go for his recent fight.
