Tbh Cotto was dealing well with Pac and was ahead on my card in the 4th till he got clipped and from there fell to pieces and traded stupidly.

Cotto is a broken man, he was going on about irrelevant ****. Antonio Margarito looks and sounds the more confidant, Cotto is afraid. When Antonio Margarito explained how far he is willing to take this match, Cotto looked uncomfortable with what he was hearing.

Antonio Margarito proved to me personally "Against Manny Pac", that he has the biggest will and heart in boxing besides Evander Holyfield!

He took punishment, that would of ended other fighters career's. He took the kind of punishment, that would have fighters mentally disturbed for the rest of their career.

"And he also! dished out allot of underrated punishment on Manny Pac! people over look this..! Manny Pac was suffering for weeks after the fight! his body was damaged"

I feel that this will be a good fight! But when push comes to shove! Cotto will break and crumble.

Margarito is an intimidating bloke, would like to see Cotto win but like others in this thread I think Cottos heart was broken by Margarito in the first fight and Margarito is much more confident. His eye looks well ****ed tho!

  4. I just hope Margaritos eye doesn't balloon up in the early rounds and cause an early doctor stoppage. It looks well shady.

    brrrrrrr that **** was cold!!

Can't wait for this fight. I prefer Cotto as a person but Margo will get to him late after taking a truck load more punishment.

Thanks for posting the vid :wooo

Yes, like he did when Pacman had him out on his feet and battered him for 12 rounds.

Cotto doesn't quit. Margarito clearly had something else that night that ruined Cotto. He was susceptible to cuts before, but his skin has never been the same since.

cotto gave up in the pac fight and ran for every round after the 4th.

he almost pulled himself out at the end of one round

margarito would never even consider doing that

    A few things:

Despite his insistence he feels nothing when hit (bollocks) Margarito, even being bigger than his Welterweight opposition (his strength was nullified against Santos) is ****ing nails. That cannot be cheated or faked, he is one tough, iron-chinned mo'fo. He looked physically hideous against Mosley and still took a massive drubbing before even going down.

As for Cotto, clearly the smarter of the two, him denouncing Toni as 'stupid' for going the distance against Pacquiao is hypocritical IMO. IIRC he had a deal with his trainer (not his Uncle for the first time in ages) to not be pulled out against Pac' if the going got tough (he got the worst beating of his career, genuinely dropped from a punch for the first time in his career, and then again with a shot that would finish most and ****ed him over)

Cotto seemed to do the same thing against Pac', and took as bad a beating as Margo' IMO. No broken orbital bone now, but facial lacerations and a shellacking should've caused him to see sense as he did against Margarito and pull out.

Unless of course, the beating from Margarito was a different kind of pain.

Even against Pac he was still defending himself. That uppercut he took in the fourth basically finished him - he leant right into it and just couldn't get the time he needed to recover. He was hardly helped by that utter mong of a trainer, Santiago.

I think the Margo retirement came down to two things: 1, Cotto had exhausted himself by moving so much. He was hammering Margarito, but he wasn't clinching or sitting down on his punches. But he hurt Tony a few times - I think it was in the third he landed a brutal punch right on the bell and the Mexican mauler looked shaken.

And 2, Margarito was putting it on Cotto all the time and it just took away all his resistance.

Whether he had loaded gloves or not is hard to tell, but Margo has rarely looked so destructive as that night. If he'd lost that fight it would have been over for him as a top level fighter at 147.
