marg said he wants to got toe/toe from early on. cotto like many times says he wants to win rd by rd, thats how he trains so i imagine though cotto has good power he is looking more so down the stretch type victory....here we have marg who is thinking ko from early on and when he will be most violent! like i said in less than 3 marg from there on he will receive a beating!

I see, so this is all based on your preconceived gameplan for the fight. I can understand that you're staying consistent here. However, in my humble view, as far as I'm concerned this demonstrates exactly the flaws in perception and logic of the contingent picking Cotto. ^ You have to bend the laws of reality for a working scenario.

    "Margarito overwhelmed?"

"When Margarito starts to fight back?"

Yeah, we are on completely different planets.

    Good opposition?

Before I get into that - are you suggesting it's not possible to knockout a "good" opponent in 2 rounds or less???

LMFAO I've never said those words... Plenty of good fighters have been knocked out in 2 rounds. I'm asking what good fighters has Margarito knocked out in 2 rounds? Matter of fact..... what good fighters has Margarito knocked out at all?

    Examples?

You think it is impossible for Margarito to be completely outfought for any given minute of the fight? Fiar enough. I think it could happen but I have never insisted upon it. I was asked to speculate as to what set of circumstances might bring about a one or two round KO. It is not my prediction for the fight.

It's normal for me to generalise like this without having to explain the specifics of what I mean to the fight crowd that posts here. Anyway -

Cotto dominates early. Margarito starts to take over in the middle rounds (or "fight back").

    You've completley misunderstood my post.

Cintron was an unproven one dimensional fighter... He's a good KO puncher but thats it. I laughed my ass off earlier when I read in a thread that someone had said Cintron has better skill that Cotto (not sure if it was in this one).

What good fighters has Margarito fought? He hasn't had many opportunities has he?

If Margarito is capable of knocking out a "good" fighter in the 147 lb weight class it's Miguel Cotto. That's for goddamn sure. Cotto is one of the most likely candidates by far.

I can understand what you're saying here, fair enough. Look, I think the major hurdle for us is that we have completely different viewpoints on how this is going to play out. Trying to match concepts here is akin to speaking two completely different languages. I think we also have varying views of the strengths and characteristics of each fighter.

Every Margo fan relies on the excuse "he has had no opportunities" or "no one will fight him" when confronted with the question of what good fighters has he fought/beaten.

Tell me exactly when Cotto is one of the most likely candidates? Margo is a pressure fighter whos only two good aspects of him is his stamina/ability to accumulate a great amount of punches and his Chin. He has no real good boxing skills... You can even look at his stance! he squares up directly with his opponents. Now tell me.. Why? out of everyone in the welterweight division would Margarito be able to knockout the number one welterweight Miguel Cotto?

Okay, fair enough. It's certainly not worth arguing over as I odn't expect anyone to knock anyone out in the first two rounds.

When do you think your man will stop Cotto? Or do you think he can outfight Cotto to a points victory?

Look at Margarito's ledger, the names aren't there. That's the point! How could he have knocked out "good" opponents he hasn't fought? This is your point that you're making BTW.

How could Margarito be able to knockout the "number one welterweight?" Again with this? Who gives a crap what his ranking is, Cotto can be hurt, right?

Are you a Margarito hater or an objective critic? If you can't see Margarito's effectiveness as a fighter than I can't help you. I don't give a **** about Margarito.

If Margarito stops him it will be later in the fight, we definately agree on that. I think mid rounds stoppage, but it could be later than that no doubt. Do you have Cotto on points or by KO?
