Margo did what some of us knew he was going to do. His granite chin, relentlessness and size was his key to victory. Congratulations Tony Margarito. Cotto, however, should not be forgotten. He took a very high risk fight against a guy who everybody ducked. Cotto had every right to duck him and take an easier path, but he didn't. Cotto boxed Margo and then he fought him until he could stand no longer. As he was led to his corner at the end of the fight with his blood spattered face I felt that it was the saddest boxing moment I've witnessed. He is a warrior who was beaten mentally and physically and it will be tough for him to come back. Cotto is always gracious and a true champion and it showed when e congratulated the winner. Punks like PBF who probably sat back in his armchair laughing at the fight telling all his mates how he could beat both guys with one arm are a joke. PBF has achieved so little in boxing compared to what he may have achieved if he took any risks. Maybe he'll call out Cotto now and demand a fight within 2 months. PBF ducked both these guys like a punk for years and no-one should ever forget his lack of balls. One of Cotto's droplets of blood has more courage than all of PBF's body. Posters on ESB who crow about how their fighter is going to KTFO another fighter in 7 rounds are real punks. Not only do they not know their arse from their elbow (Margo is going to get KOed...:-(), they disappear as soon as their hero is defeated bbb). Even worse are the ones who then criticised Cotto for running or quitting. If I had an army of warriors fighting an alien race I would use these punks as training practice. These posters are weak, stupid and pathetic. Those punks should be banned along with their IPs. Thanks for reading. It was a fight albeit sad fight. Margo can unify if he can beat Williams but I can see the other two guys ducking him. Margo was all wrong stylistically for Cotto so he does still have a future against anyone who can be broken down. He should avoid a rematch or he'll receive the same fate as Cintron.
Margarito is clearly more than just a big chin. Which seems to be overlooked by the haters time and time again. He has a solid punch, relentless approach and is just indomitable. I think he has a good chance at erasing the Williams loss if he rematches him. After that he's got a pretty strong hold on the welterweight division.

Excellent post. I really don't think Cotto will ever be the same after this fight BUT here's what I see. Both men should make as much money as they can after giving the boxing world such a spectacular fight. Enough for both to retire comfortably at an early age. They both deserve it. Margarito should try to draw Floyd or Oscar into a huge money fight. Hopefully he will win it. Paul williams should have to come through Shane Mosely, but preferrably Miguel Cotto who has a style that I feel can beat Williams. Cotto can fight as a southpaw such as Quintana, but is far better than Quintane in every department including speed and a brutal body attack which we saw none of last night. Should Cotto prevail against Williams , it would set up a huge rematch with Tony which im not so sure Cotto wants. But if he does...They fight the rematch for a huge purse, give the world another spectacular fight for all the marbles. Then they should both retire rich INVEST WELL and go fishing together and have a fun life until they are old and grey. I like both of these men and want to see good things for them. Both are admirable characters and I feel boxing in general is lucky to have them. As far as Floyd goes......screw Daffy DUCK. He's a good for nothing punk with money who hangs out with wannabe gang bangers. Both Margarito and Cotto are so far above Floyd on the evolutionary ladder that I cannot even find words to describe it.
It's a shame that the so-called boxing experts hate Margarito's guts. Atlas is one of them who has no shame.
